Default Just Had A GREAT idea!

Just had a Great Idea. Since everyone was talking about career mode and create teams and players. I thought of training. For Batting, Bowling and mabye captaining.(Not sure about fielding). You could teach the players how to improve their game especially if they are young.

Batting:

-Shows players how to face different types of bowlers.
-Shows players how to play different fields
-Shows players how to play shots into any area
-Shows players how to play o different pitch conditions.

Bowling

-Shows players how to bowl on different pitch conditions
-Shows players how to bowl with different fields.
-Shows players how to bowl bouncers , yorkers etc...

What do you think?

Default Extention

Everyone talking about the single player mode. How about a single player career mode. Using the stuff above and taking you created player to a legendery status and possibly captian of that persons respective country.

Default A bit more stuff

Thinking about fielding. Just about the career mode. How about being able to set (Pre-Match) a field setting for specific bowlers. E.G. Ashley Giles. He would have a standerd , a attacking and a defensive field. For the standard field he would have a leg slip. A slip. Short leg and silly point. A man at bat and pad. And a few men in the rest of the field. For his defensive you would remove the bat and pad , and the leg slip and drop them further back.

Custom soundtraks are a must.

Getting back to the training mode mabye you could have a target practice. Practicing getting singles against certain fields. As you have probably gathered im behing training and bringing back the nets. But i think you could employ different coaches to aid different things. But players would have to show they have trained by proving in the matches.

A technologie option should be avaible for practice matches. So you could have the 3rd umpire avaible to use hawkeye, snickometer (Sound is vital), as well as deciding run outs.

Drinks brakes.

Unlock different equiptment in career mode such as new bats.

Sponsers.

Thats all for now i have to do my homework.

Default Some More Gear

Umpires- There needs to be a couple of umpires per country. i cant say i know very many from each country but make them recogniasable.

Form- I didnt like the way that on BLC Austrailia were so dominant. In a test ever 5 overs or so a wicket would fall.Countries should come in and out of form.

Replays- On BLC 99 There seemed to be some really awful LBW decisions and by the time you had got over the shock of getting such a bad decision the replay wont go far enough back. It needs to be about 15-20 seconds in length and you should be able to view it at any speed and at any angle.

Crowd- The crowd was very flat on the old game. They need to be lively. Espicially when in the west indies. It would make the game feel more realistic.

Fielding- I thought the computer fielding on the old Brian Lara was awful. The would run aimlessly right alongside the ball. They need to dive. Through themselves at the ball. Id rather concede four runs to a great diving attempt from a fielder instead of watching someone run and stop three.

Swingers- Fast bowlers need to be able to swing it. Matty Hoggard and Pedro Collins . Not all balls can swing though. But it needs to be quick. Swing and Spin on old games are the same.

Wicket Keeper training- Talking about manual fielding. Wicket keepers should be allowed to be trained so should there be a single player would learn how to wicket keep on the game.

Thats all for now but more soon!

These are all great ideas Bob, but I am pretty sure Swordfish have finished taking on new ideas, and are now developing the features they have decided upon

Default .

Fair Point but its the little things. I mean yes great gameplay and some awsome graphics wouldn't go a miss but its the small things that make a game great. Keep it going swordfish.

I agree that swing has to be included. It is the one thing sorely missed in all the cricket games i have played to date. Imagine the feeling of bowling a perfect waqar/wasim type inswinging yorker... oooo yeah

I agree that you should be able to bowl perfect, unplayable baals- but it must be hard, very hard, and very easy to deliver a juicy half-volley or full toss by mistake.

This is an excellent point - I have always thought that the price to pay for failing to bowl a yorker correctly is an easy to hit half volley/full toss.
