Penalty for dying.

Two days ago I punished myself for being forced to recall from a dungeon without being ressurected. Because I believe that a death should hurt I decided to sacrifce money.
However, I was soon facing a problem, you can't destroy money.
The result of this roleplaying way of punishing myself was terrible. To say the least (I had to buy darts for 2000 gold, and destroy em). Therefor I need suggestions on how, and where.
Since I am a fighter, following Dol Dorn and Onatar, I reckon that throwing something really expensive into a big fire of some sort would work. Any tip on where a fighting dwarf could find one of those?
It wouldn't feel right throwing it into a fire in a armory, or such. It needs to be a place of religion...

make a sheet that decides which equipmentment slot is based on which number:

head: 1-5
torso: 6-10
Goggles: 11-15
etc
inv page 1: 50-65
page 2: 66-70
page 3: 71-85
page 4: 86-100

if you roll a page, destroy the most valuable item on the page. If you roll an equipment slot, destroy that item.

Consider it like this, the fatal blow destroyed your glasses, the acid trap disolved your helmet, the 100' deep pit with spikes has your sword lying at the bottom, etc

True, actually I did ask a groupmember to roll a d6 for me. If he'd roll a 6 I would have to sacrifice an expensive item.
But I need a way to sacrifice an item to the god that returned me to life.

Well...

Since you get resurrected by clerics working for House Jorasco, I think a visit to House Joraso is fine for RP reasons. Find youself a nice place to thank the God and sacrifice the item (destroy it).

You could do that with a weapon, since you worship Dol Dorn, which is logical IMO.
