Default Ashes Cricket 2009 Patch??

When are you creating a new patch for Ashes Cricket 2009?

Having so many problems!!

I'm having loading problems. Everytime I start the game, the codemasters first loading screen freezes and then after all the codemasters and transmission loading screens show up, and the loading screen for Ashes Cricket 09 shows up it freezes again.

When I play any form of game, I experience frame rate issues. It's got nothing to do with my computer specs by the way.

HP Pavillion dv5-1209ax
2.1 GHz AMD Athlon x2 Processor
4GB Ram
ATI HD 3650 (512 Dedicated Graphics) 1) Clicked cricket2009.exe

2) First screen showing codemasters and whole lot of words shows up and it takes at least 3 minutes to the codemasters and transmission intro scene.

3) The first loading screen with the batsman takes another 3 minutes to go to the next loading screen.

4) The next loading screen takes about a minute to get to main menu.

5) When playing a ODI single player exhibition match, the loading to the stadium/conditions ---> team select etc freezes for about 20 seconds every time I go to the next screen.

6) The frame rate of cut scenes when playing is bad even though my computer is capable of playing. But when I controlling a batsmen or bowler, its running fine.

7) Also task manager shows that explorer.exe CPU is going around 90 therefore slowing my computer.

Please create a patch soon!!

Codemasters usually reply so give it a while . If do you not get an answer then I suggest either giving them another email or PM a mod who deals with the game.

Check the Ashes Cricket section of the forum for details about the game.

Thumbs up

Codemasters is releasing a patch soon..
A patch for the game was confirmed to be in progress during a Q&A conducted with Codemasters Producer Jamie Firth by Planetcricket.net. Among the issues addressed in the upcoming patch are the prevalence of run-outs, as well as run rates, the distance edged deliveries carry and bowler speeds. The estimated dates for the release of the patch are "...within the next two weeks..." (making it on or before 23/09/09) for the PC version, and mid-October for the 360 and PS3 versions.

Thumbs down Losing the will to live...

I'm astounded I'm in a community forum on a gamers website... no offence intended, its just I'm not huge gamer just an avid cricket fan.

I do realise that a Cricket game would be quite tedious if it emulated an actual test match, as 5 days non-stop cricket via a computer screen would be quite tough! however I would expect a cricket game to actually work... which Ashes Cricket 2009 doesn't

Faults I've Noticed:
1. Menu navigation slow, not the responsive nature of normal apps / games
2. Game hangs when a wicket keeper catches a ball from a spin bowler
3. Can't time medium pacers properly... or spin bowlers... this is not just because I'm cr@p its because you cannot hold the arrow keys down as you can with a fast / or fast medium bowler... when I hold shift -> for a spin bowler consistently the batsman takes a shot at exactly the same time far to early.
4. ... and Boll** I don't get paid for this... I bought this game for enjoyment and entertainment.

Someone at codemasters has done a sh1t job. I don't need a patch I need a refund and a few wasted hours of life back

Simple... don't buy this game for the PC, its sh1t

Initially I had 7 frame rates , but after the mediaplayer tweak I am getting 80 frame rates...
Do this it wont cause such drastic lag !

Before starting the game - Run a .mp3 with windows media player with repeat mode on - Then start the game - Make sure the media player is running the .mp3 continuously - Set the highest settings on & c da difference !!!!!!!

Codemasters has revealed that a patch for its latest cricket title will be with gamers soon. which is about time for some annoying bugs to be fixed
Some of the main changes in the patch include:

* The run-out bug has been addressed.
* Run-rates have been tweaked (particularly Test matches).
* Edges DO carry more.
* Bowler speeds HAVE been addressed.

Yes, of course they do, if you let your PC clog up with dust and never clean it, or do things like defrag/clean up your HDD regularly, or visit 'dodgy' sites and collect viruses all the time, without scanning occasionally. Funnily enough, games freezing on my PC are a rarity...

Far from being 'crap' for games, PCs are actually the most versatile platform, with more genres of games released than on any other format, games are far cheaper, are nearly always better on PC and are moddable. You can't do that on consoles, and I don't think you ever will be able to.
