Just a thought, and I am still thinking this through as I am typing, quests being given by higher level characters to lower level ones. Say for example a 10th level quest chain that has as one of its objectives 'organise a band of adventurers to kill the kobold emissary'. This could be part of a two pronged attack where a high level party has to kill a true boss mob whilst a lower level group has to kill a kobold emissary before news gets out of the big boss' demise. The rewards could be haggled between the hiring and the hired characters and the quest could be set within an existing dungeon (accepting the quest would spawn the emissary somewhere in the dungeon). The lower level quest would have to be done within a strict timeframe - say within 20 minutes of the boss dieing and the quest would fail if the quests giver logged out (so he couldnt log a low level alt and do it). Obviously the dungeon would need to have an upper level limit. The above brief scenario is just one of the many ways the game could force interraction between players and therefore aid roleplay. This would work even better of course if the game allowed evil players (perhaps with some in-game mechanic that made it harder to train/use merchants so evil characters would still be an unattractive for most minority - but that's a different thread). Imagine an evil player convincing a good party to free the lady kidnapped by bandits - only for them to find that they are breaking out a wanted evil sorceress from a bounty hunters compound.
I dunno - just thinking mid thread - sorry for the ramble!
