Hi
I think it would be a good idea to add a reset/respend feature for the feats and skills in DDO. This way if you choose the wrong thingie you aren't completely boned.

if i'm reading this correct, it should be a are you sure this is what you want box, rather then a you have tried it out and dont like it so you want to try something else sort of thing.
If its the prior then it sounds like a good idea, if its the latter then i dont like it, it would be taking another step away from the PnP game.

I think its good the way its now. It gives the characters a touch of personality and no "favorite of the month builds" will come up ;)

I’m not that keen on this idea. This is stat playing not role playing. If you choose something you find out you don’t like later on, you should just put that down to experience. Next time you will be more cautious when choosing feats / skills etc.

Definitely NO.
This isn't WoW.
DnD is by it's nature unforgiving of mistakes, and that's what makes a good player: learning by trial and error.
there is no official character builder wich actually let you plan your character... gimping is a sad thing in online games as it makes your char practically useless... just becos you 100% D&D nerds know what to take when etc and dont need a second chance to get things right you shouldnt deny ppl with less knowledge of D&D a chance aswell.
im all for the reset of skills and feats at the cost of cash....
it would be one step in the right direction to add stuff that will keep the game interesting longer than the free month.

They had to learn it the hard way, so why should you not? There sure are character build calculators out there for the D&D3.5 system, so google it and i´m sure you´ll get a satisfying result. Have a look at the forums, there are already a few builds out there. Check the guilds pages, more builds there. I can understand you don´t want a completely useless char, if there´s no other chance, just ask a group member for help.
D&D is not that hard to understand, if you are willing to, you will get used (and most probably addicted) to it faster than you are expecting yourself to.
found that so farP.S.:Found that :http://www.redblade.org
It´s a forum, but at the top among the options, there´s a link saying "download", try it out, just testing it here, looks quite nice

I agree. I have no problem in living with my decisions but if you are going to have permanent character-changing choices then you need to properly document what these choices are at the time they are taken. At the moment, many of the feat names are misleading, and there is no real information on what they do unless you own a Pnp Player's manual (and even then they are not the same). The same is true for sorceror spells (it is not such an issue for wizards since they can inscribe spells).

im not talking about myself, im D&D fanboy myself but people make mistakes.. so get over your pathetic ego's and let ppl less experiensed with D&D have their "repair char" button.
and ive seen all three of the socalled char builders for tis game, they all suck!
also, if this game is going upstream on so many things that make other mmorpg's popular like crafting, pvp, char remakes, mailboxes and other stuff then this game is headed for oblivion.
Diablo 2 has better mmorpg content atm than DDO, again dev's, BIG SHAME ON YOU!

depends how it implemented. If its a you pick your choices, they you have a chance to see what it does to your stats, maybe have a dummy you can cast/use it on to see try it out, before you accept it then yeah, it might be beneficial, would be like having a few practice rolls in PnP to check to see if your new stats work how you expect them too. but once its locked in thats it, no going back and changing it.

Personally i'm against the idea and i'm no D&D guru by any means. If you want to build a decent character then take a little time to research what you want / need, Its really not that hard. There is a wealth of information on the internet, why not use it?
On the idea of a confirmation box, that does, to some degree already exist. When you finish spending AP etc. the final box lists everything you have selected, from there you can then go back to change things if you want to (I think, may be wrong though, ive never tried it).
I don't think a confirmation box is would change anything for those that don't research what they are taking, as all they are likely to do is quickly click the 'OK' on the confirmation box so they can get back to the game quickly.

That suggestion sounds like a free respec which I would suggest is one of the worst things possible to be implemented.
Do a bit of reading and think before you buy skills etc and download the DDO Character builder that is currently being developed by someone on the US forums.

A big NO on that suggestion. Very un-D&D. You just need to plan ahead more, use one of the DDO pc builder utils that are popping up or a good old pen/pencil and a piece of paper. ;)
