Hail brothers and sisters of the world of DDO from Greece.
As a beta and preorder player of this world I decide it to post all my suggestions for how I imagined this world as an 18 years of pnp and pc games (started with the first pool of radiance) and played all tsr pc titles since then and with my expierience 4 years in mmorpg and mostly in social worlds of nwn.
I want to declare first of all that all the things i was going to say is from my heart and if some of my words will be cruel is cause I expect to much cause i was vision it at least 10 years ago and im sure this is your vision also.
1. Alligment penalty. As an xp pnp dm I never allowed my players to play out of their alligment without a good reason or a penalty. The reason is simple this is a role play game first and top of all else.In this world I travelled with a paladin and we entered the crypts and without no reason start to smash graves just for the loot i was furius. There was not even a side quest for it just FOR LOOT. You must definatly do something about it as soon as possible. The best part of neverwinter night was that.From the first time I played my first pc game i was thinking that the pc games is lesser than pnp cause there is no role play and alligment play issues.
2. I was on beta closing event. It was gr8 and i want to thank the DMs who did this night very special and give us an idea of the potentials of this game.I lost 7,000 xp with my 7th lvl dwarf cleric on this event but I really had a gr8 time and I didnt mind at all. (First to battlle First to glory First on death . DWARF RULE). That bring me to my 2nd suggestion. There is a good DM client allready how about we use it. I can figure out 2 possible ways cause the real fun starts with weekly LIVE story based plot events with dms not with mindless npcs. So first of all u can do this job for us or hire some xp dms to do this work.The second thought was to rent to the rest of us a dm client and the build editor to make our games for our friends. I wouldnt mind at all to pay a DM client instead of the player client for this and im sure that many people will follow this idea.
3. This game yet didnt gave me the feeling when I first came in contact with the magic of Forgoten Realm pnp world not even the half of it. That hurt me a lot. I hope in a better future and a new age of mmorpg and I know you can do it. This is a diablo like game in my eyes yet but first of all we known and have felt that the meaning of role play is not to build powerfull characters (not that I dont know or i dont like that type of play too my 6th lvl dwarf fighter in Aureon can deliever with hes gr8axe +11 1d12 +24 dmg + 1d6 shock)and rush in but to develop the relations between us first of all and getaway sometimes from the cruelty of the real world acting as a hero.I dont mind to rush into dungeons sometimes by myself but role play is more than that so lets use the dms client and the alligment and make our dreams come true.
Last but not least sorry if my English is not perfect but i took my degree a millenium ago LOL.
