hi i have a couple of suggestions that should be easy to implement and would improve the game play alot.

............first of all when you group with people i think thier names above thier heads should change colour to a green so that you can more easily pick them out in crowded taverns. or see them when they are running past you in the street.

as everyone elses name colour will be blue and thiers will be green.
similar to wow.

........tells need to appear in all the channels party guild and general, this is obvious because its not always convient to ahve to switch channels to answer a tell or even read a tell.

and i think quests should be allowed to be shared i know his mite detract from the exploreing aspect but they will have to travel to them to get the reward anyway so spreading the quest by word of mouthwont be a problem i dontexpect the NPC will mind aslong as someone rescued his daughter from the ogre

please post what you think of these suggestions

wishy you can alter what type of messages come in on the various channels already.
so just change your party/guild chat to include tells.

i think you right click on the title of the chat group and a list appears with tick boxes for type of messages you want to appear in that channel. just tick the box for the chat types you want.

Sounds like a good and (hopefully) easily implemented idea.

Yeah the colouring of names between party, guild and other players is badly needed - makes things quite hard within busy taverns :)

Sharing of quests would be nice but I doubt its really needed tbh you don't have too far to pickup the quests.

You can change the colour of different chat types in the options

EDIT sorry, got the wrong end of the stick... thought you meant different coloured chat, but you meant party names...

I'd like it to be easier to send tells to friends and targets. Some sort of right click menu on the friends list would be handy....doesn't seem to do much yet except tell one they're online...and even that is a bit buggy. And when you see someone and want to send a tell it would be so much easier to just add something to the target box in addition to the invite and trade buttons. Not being a touch typist by the time I've looked for the keys to tell and then looked up the person I wanted to talk to is long gone. I think that most of the things we want may be implemented in other games like WoW and CoH/V just because they've proven to be a quick and easy way to communicate. I'm all for being different and innovative but I'd rather have some things a bit samey than leave them out with no true replacement.

Having said that, I've really enjoyed the voice chat when it works and when others use it. I think it's a huge feature to have it built-in as opposed to having to run something else. I've usually avoided voice chat because I can't be bothered to set all kinds of stuff up in Teamtalk or maybe been a bit scared or intimidated by the whole concept. Here it's only a few buttons to twiddle with...maybe adjust windows settings slightly...et voila! I'm sure the designers meant the game to be played with voice chat being the norm (after all, I never played PnP D&D by writing notes to my party members - the DM sometimes maybe! ) and maybe didn't concentrate on other chat quite so much.

In that vein, another feature I think would be very neat and maybe it's done somewhere already....voice manipulation! It's great to be able to hear your party but when the cute elven sorceress sounds like a glaswegian docker (no offence to Glaswegians OR dockers) the fantasy is ever so slightly ruined! If there was a way to choose how your voice sounded from say a selection of race alterations which would be coded in everyones game I think it would be so much better and encourage more to talk!

Anyway, as we know there are lots of niggly little things which need fixing but it's not stopping me enjoying this great game! I have faith that an army of gnomes are wotking away in the underpits somewhere to fix all our problems!

The colourchanges of names is something that I want to see.. I'd wanna see 3 colours... 1 for everyone... 1 for grupmates.. and 1 for guildmates ;)

Quest sharing allthough convenient.. is a tad bit too lazy for me... don't like it.. but if one could tell the player where the appropriate npc is (that is.. put a pointer on his minimap so that he can find it himself) would be a very nice solution ;)

You can set your own pointers by clicking on your map. Not sure if this works for all of your party not tried it yet. I think they should take a few ideas from wow and add them here. Theres no harm in using something good from something else. On wow you could click on the minimap and create a ding and small circl that everyone could see.

I'd like to see maps that you've explored stay explored until you've complete the quest. Especiallythe large outdoor areas.

Just so you know, I'm going to organise a better place for the suggestions as there are some great ideas and they do 'get lost' in this forum.

I'll do this when I have a chance to properly think about it.
