Dorn was elected as the unofficial "German" server

Well met!

With this I just wanna tell you that Dorn was elected as the unofficial "German" server for the people starting after the 17. of March.

This does not mean that anyone else is not welcome; it is just a way to answer people´s question "Where should I begin when I want to start on a server where many people speak German?". The answer is: Dorn.

The other server starting on 17. of March is Onatar; this was elected as the unofficial "French" server.

If you search a server where many people speak German before the 17. of March, you may find that Boldrei is well. Watch out for messages in the other sections or in the German section.

Schön Euch zu treffen!

Hiermit möchte ich Euch kurz mitteilen, daß Dorn zum inoffiziellen "deutschen" Server gewählt wurde für die Leute, die am 17.3. starten.

Das bedeutet nicht, daß anderssprachige Leute auf diesem Server nicht willkommen sind; es soll nur die Frage beantworten: "Auf welchem Server sollte ich spielen, wenn ich mit vielen deutschsprachigen spielen will?". Die Antwort ist: Dorn.

Der andere Server, der am 17.3. startet, ist Onatar. Dieser wurde als der inoffizielle "französische" Server gewählt.

Wenn Ihr vor dem 17.3. einen Server sucht, auf dem viele Deutsch sprechen, könntet Ihr diesen in Boldrei finden. Achtet auf Nachrichten in den anderen Serverforen oder im deutschen Sprach-Unterforum.

Nana! Du solltest dich drauf einstellen, das Codemaster ein wenig geizig ist mit zeitiger Informationsweitergabe, also bitte nicht drängeln.
Ich bin bin total ignorant wenn es um irgendwelche wichtigen Bekanntmachungen geht, einfach weil ich das Spiel zu sehr mag und mir dadurch viel Stress erspare.

Aureon ist völlig ok und man kann mit ner englischen Vollversion auch seinen Charakter behalten! :)

Genaugenommen ist es völlig egal, wo man spielt. Man benötigt auch nicht den Wahnsinn an Englischkenntnissen, wenn man auf einem anderen Server als Dorn beginnt. Das macht die Sache eigentlich nur spannender und realistischer auf jeden Fall. Nicht jeder Spanier, Italiener, Franzose, Engländer usw. wird sich danach richten, was dieses Forum hier und die Neustarter vom 17. bis 23.03. festlegen. Ab der Freischaltung aller Server und Accounts sowie der Vollversion für jeden, wird sich ein neuer Spieler eher davon beeindrucken lassen, wer ihn freundlich aufnimmt - egal aus welcher Sprachregion.
Ich spiele bereits eine Weile auf Aureon und habe mir auch die englische Vollversion zugelegt. Alles funktioniert bestens und ob mit Freunden aus Deutschland oder völlig unbekannten Spielern, es macht einfach nur Spaß. Warum sollte ich nun unbedingt auf Dorn von vorn beginnen?

Viel Spaß im Spiel - darum geht es ja wohl!

Du hast recht. Danach richten wird sich kaum einer. Aber das ganze ist einfach selbst regulierend. Wenn ein großer anteil an spieler deutsch spricht, wird jemand der eine andere sprache verwendet automatisch auf einen anderen server wechseln...leider

it is because of the rivalry between you french guys and the british guys and your total different languages!

The British always say "the french are unpolite and rude" As a german i can say, that i have never met unpolite french people! On ddo or in real life!
Thats just stereotypical!

And if you don't mention the war (or any penalty shooting in football nationalmatches between england and germany in the past 40 years) the british don't think so bad about a us!

I has always been a bit different between France and the UK and i will allways be! and i am following the Discussion on "Onatar" for a long time and from looking at this discussion from the far is quiet funny ;-)

It's because on Dorn, if there is an English player in the party, we Zermans do our best to write/speak in English with them.

I guess on Onatar it's different, I know the French don't really like to stop speaking French, so there you go. :)

We have a French player in our guild on Dorn, and when she is on guild chat or in a party, everyone speaks English too, it's the most common language in the world, so everyone should be able to use it.

I had an english speaker in my group yesterday and I had to translate all in both French and english during shan to Kor , chapter 1 to 3 .... do you know how exhausted I ended ? ^^

If all French were fluent in English , would be a solution to type in english. If all french were able to speak and understand english through a speaker, it would be an option to speak in English.
But it's not and anyway French is beautifull na ! :D

Ouais, francais est tres beau, et allemand aussi, mais nous sommes dans Europe maintenant, et le langue d'europe est anglais.

My French sucks, sorry, I hope you could understand. I would highly recommend for everyone to pay attention in your English courses and try to learn at least a bit, don't have to be able to partake in philosophical discussions in English, but at least be able to communicate without having to have a translator. :)

That's because I am a little baby, Kytine, lived in Paris for 2 years so my French is like that of a 2 year old... :P

Waiting for that patch, but I think it will take 2 or 3 more hours before it's done downloading, so I might not be on tonight. Tomorrow for sure, and then we go dans le donjon and kill le dragon. :)

If for some reason I'm able to download with more than 10kbps per second, I might still get online today.
