View Full Version : Dizzy
Is there any chance that codemasters creates remake of Dizzy for PC and consoles. It was the best game ever.this new games are perfect but Dizzy had that something.I love Treasure Island Dizzy.
From what I have gathered, there is some legal stuff to sort out between Codemasters and The Oliver Twins. I don't think I can go into any detail for fear of being :cen: .
Anyway, I do hope this all gets sorted as many gamers would love to see a new Dizzy. :D

*new* Dizzy? I doubt it'd ever live up to the standards set by the original games. I'd be happy just to see a simple freeware update (much like the CCS64-embedded BMX Simulator) to allow them to run under Win32 platforms and Linux. Of course, I've asked the same about other classics (mainly the Sensible Software games) without result so far (a commercial port with no real changes from the original does not count, I mean c'mon, we've had SWOS for ages on the Amiga, what makes CM think we'd buy it all over again (and a GBA to boot) when we can just emulate our original Amiga disks, perfectly legally!?) :bw:
On that note, I'm all for opensourcing the Dizzy series to allow for more ports to be made and for the old series to be maintained indefinitely by those (fans) who really care about it. Of course, nothing would stop Codemasters (or more likely one of their acquired developer teams) from doing a new Dizzy, and I'd love to see in what direction they'd take it (just don't bog the game down with 3D just because it's all the rage, use it with caution in order to further gameplay (something most publishers are missing today - they just go "OOOH - 3D - Prrecccious!"...)
OK, I'll stop ranting now. :D
