I want to thank Codemasters for recreating the Circuit Park Zandvoort in DTM Race Driver.
I have been living in Zandvoort my entire life and really want the circuit to do well. I grew up going to the circuit with my dad. Unfortunately, I never experienced Formula 1 on the circuit because I was 3 years old when the last GP of Zandvoort was held, due to financial problems of the circuit. A part of the circuit was sold and the track was shortened.
For 17 years now, the circuit has been struggling to rebuild it's international status it had before 1985. Some years ago it finally got its full lenght back, although in a different shape, but with all the historic corners in tact.
The circuit almost got its F1 license back (they still need to create some extra run-off areas, it's now only legal to test with F1 cars) and we're still hoping that F1 will return in the future (although chances are small) but with events such as the DTM, which was held in September last year for the first time, the circuit is slowly returning to its international status.
DTM Race Driver is the first game to include Zandvoort (in its new shape) and I can't wait till August 23rd to experience a digital Tarzancorner and Scheivlak! Thank you Codemasters!
