Gidday d00derz....just wondering if my lap time around Bathurst is on the mark or not...I have opened all tracks and cars, but Aussie tracks are my fav :D

I have on 56k, so I don't play online much, rather lan with my mates..the best! 10 drunken sods driving around Bathurst on a mission :D

I run VY Commodore, no setup as yet but getting around Bathurst in 1.43
I guess when I do some adjustments it the garage I can better it....I run a pc, so this is mainly aimed at pc users.

cheers dudes..

You must said that you are doing it in the "simulation" mode. There is big difference beetwen the "sim" and "pro-sim".

Current track record on Bathurst is 2.08.3873 set by John Bowe in 2002 qualifying, so you're time about 1.43 is ok, but not real. ("sim" mode is too easy)

Try to do your best on "pro-sim" mode, and compare it with the results of V8Supercars drivers.

Good luck.

You think that Pro-Sim is better?

I think it is much closer to the reality.
You should try, but it could be hard if you haven't got wheel controller.

Actually current record is 2.06.8594s set by Greg Murphy in the top-ten shootout, 2003, luckily I was there to watch it :D ,
my current best was set in time trial in sim-mode is a 1:44.06, btw being a LAN game variables such as draftng off over cars etc. must be considered if thats where you pulled 1:43. Have seen people in online games reach 1:41's and lower on sim-mode, highest pro-sim lap i've seen is around about 2:04:clap:

I take this record from offcial V8 site, because it's my only source of information about this series. So you can see if the real record is around 2.06, in game record is about 2.04 ( at pro-sim) It's a very little difference between.

Now I will try my best at Bathurst.

I've got fantastic setup for Bathurst.

That is for Holden VY Commodore, for me it handles at Bathurst much better than Ford.

At pro-sim I've done today 2.03.15

I will post my setup in the different subject here.

These times are pretty impressive. Are you guys keeping your car straight? I reckon there's some serious body damage getting those times. ;)

If you are planning to go to pro sim I would wait until you are fresh one morning and race in only pro sim. if you attempt to change modes on the same day you will only get frustrated. you really need a setup at bathurst for pro sim, all other tracks there is no time advantage, just easier to drive.
I dont practice sim mode, I only play it online when there are no other rooms- 1:43.53 is best time during race (coll on)
I practice pro-sim mode, but only race-no time trials 2:03.42 with coll on of course.
I used to win a lot when the game came out, but now I get whipped, since I am not improving setup etc.
I have previously posted that pro sim was bad, and also posted later that I liked it- you have to ADAPT to a game- I also think pro sim is dead on for the konica series' car attitude.
but now I like pro sim because many others hate it! lol

I thought "hmm, ok let's give this baybee a go"....one lap around Bathurst in Pro Sim and I reckon my wheel was left/right more times in one lap than the whole time in Simulation!!!!

It's nutz:rolleyes:

So I only had around an hour to play with some settings and after many right offs, I got around Bathurst without any of the damage turning red! yellow, but not red. But the time was 2.06 something.

Now the reason why I said something is because, when I was playing the game in simulation mode I had a car setup for just Bathurst. And when I went in and done some time trials it kept my best time using Simulation.

Now when I go into the time trials in Pro Sim, it always shows my simulation best time rather than my pro sim best time.
So I have to do some basic maths to get a correct time happening.

I have tried to delete the best time in the time trials, but it won't happen, which is a bummer for I am always gonna see my sim time rather than my pro sim time....is this a bug in the game?...another story I suppose!

The last lap I did before i had to go out was around the 2.04??? so it aint all that bad, frustrating to say the least, but ya work up a sweat, yeah I reckon you can get hooked on it, but unsuitable for me for online play, having modem sux deluxe

Over the weekend I am gonna have another session and see what I can come up with, and when I do I will post the time and the setup I am using.

Thanx for the input CeeAyeEee....no way are we gonna play pro sim Venom CV8 online come Monday night!!

cheers

And you have only a moment to remember the difference, because it's on screen about 1-2 seconds. It should be fixed!
My latest times at Bathurst are around 2.02, it could be improved, but with no sense for long time racing. Car is badly damage after that fast lap, so it's unable to do few laps in a row.

Time around 2.04-2.06 is good and safe for the car.

Not long at all to read the time, so I took a screenie when it shows the diffence in the times.

Well it's Saturday in Ozland, so guess what I am gonna practice today:D

That's awesome, nice work mate

Like to see a VY V8 behind her too :p

Had a bit of a play today and my best time in pro sim is 2.04:65

With these settings:

Downforce: Rear 0.85
Suspesnion: Front & Rear 0.70
Ride Height: 0.15
Anti Roll: Front & Rear 0.75
Brake Bias: +15

Pretty sure with a bit more tweaking I can do a bit better, not much though for the car gets pretty trashed after a couple of laps.

I use to use more Brake Bias, around +25, but found the backend all over the place. But in pro sim there is no room for error, if I was to play pro-sim it would be only lan or solo. Online just too hard with 56k connection.

What do I prefer?
Simulation, the reason being you can have a lot more fun with others rather than trashing your car too easily. But each to their own.

Hope your putting in some good lap times around Bathurst Venom CV8, Monday is coming around fast!

Cheers all
