So this summer i rerolld my 52 burglar into a Man Hunter-Currently lvl 22, i read that "Elves is better" blablabla, they look like girls ;);) (No Offence to all you elves out there ;P) And i must say that i can solo alot of groupies as long as i have pots and i can also get to places fast, just learned the port to shire skill, i can also afford mount, anyway for higher lvls i will need to fix traits.. I have no idéa what i should use, skills and stuff so...

All you skilled hunters there maybe could tell me what kind of traits and stats i should be looking for?
Sorry if my english was poor, thanks.

It's not about looking androgynous or rugged, it's all about the Man-Heal. :p

Now back on topic - basically when it comes to traits, it depends on your play style. If you are more of a CC kind of hunter, Trapper of Foes line is ideal however, it comes with a big price. It dramatically downgrades the DPS when at its highest so it isn't really a Hunter's best friend (especially after book 7).

If you look to work fast with induction skills and focus, you are better off with Huntsmen trait line. Now here with enough bonuses there is a certain legendary you will come across that will be enabled in combat (Press Onward). I'd strongly recommend that one over the line's capstone legendary (possibly the most useless in the history of the game), as most of the time you shoot stationary.

For peak DPS and PvMP, also groups only if you know how to control your aggro, Bowmaster is really good. It's value increased alot after Book 7, sure it is slower than Huntsmen line but more devastating damage is dealt. Using a nice concentration of this line in groups will require you to watch out for unwanted aggro - be prepared with threat reduction class item/ beneath notice.

Stats:

A nice share of will and fate is beneficial for long fights. At 60 you can safely get 5k+ morale while having your agility over 550. Having a captain in your group will cap that right up easily.

You are not alone among those who still have not discovered that there is a HUGE difference between the Legendary Fleetstance and the regular one. It's just the regular one that sucks.
The legendary has none of the drawbacks of the regular one, so you can have it running at all times, like the other stances. What you DO get then, is a 10% increase in attackduration (which you can't get anywhere else), and which, if you like the quicker way of fighting, is very noticeable. (And no, you don't have to run around to get the bonus. Just stand in one spot like with other stances.)
With the legendary stance you get the ADDED bonus of missing less while running, but neither I, nor most other hunters actually kite that much. You can use both Press Onwards and Improved Fleetstance at the same time, which is also a nice touch.
The only disadvantage is the fact that it IS legendary, and that you then will have to sacrifice another legendary to use it, as well as needing to use 5 of the huntsman line.

and you get none of the perks the other stances bring. 10 decreased attack duration is nice, but i'd still prefer the other stances over that one

Especially if you have a CPT with war-cry traited and there is always NH + resolute aim.

And you'll still be mashing buttons a minute after your power is gone :P

All joking aside, there's plenty of threads about traits and virtues around.

While leveling up, it rally doesn't matter wich stats you do favour.
In fact, you don't need ICPR.

Max Power / Will combined with Agi is all you "need".

After hitting max level, and raiding & 6man instances are becoming your main PVE activity, ICPR / AGI will be Second to none ;)

For levelling, it'd be morale, agility, plus some will/power and icpr. It's also usually better to have more armour than less, i.e. use medium armour unless light provides clearly better bonuses (and that is RARE). For traits you might want to check out the one that gives you in-combat/sturdier traps, as until you get your legendaries it is your best CC option. Aside from that, it should be a mix of Huntsman/Bowmaster depending on personal preference and how often you group/solo (deeper into the BM line gives bonuses to your strength stance and that's the one you would most likely use solo and least likely while grouped).

On the Improved Fleet Stance thing, I recently slotted it on my hunter. Didn't have a chance to do turtle with it yet (and on few last runs I was gated by aggro, so I might need to run Endurance yet again:/), but it certainly allows for a slight change of pace. And you get to kite like a wannabe RK:P

Whatever u do, u will end up with 4-3 Bowmaster - Huntsmen set (or 3-4). At least 90%+ hunter play that way. I have seen only Federic using primarily Huntsmen. Trapper set drops your dps 4-5 lvl or more.
As for the stats, it is Agility, Agility, Agility and a bit more Agility then Vitality then Fate. At least I m build that way. If u hit a high Agi score sacrifice it for survival purposes. Raise Vitality or raw Morale. If u r well geared u wont have problems with power when soloing, unless u have to fight 3-4 mobs at the same time. Pots + some CC and regain are your friends. In raids Endu St wont let your out of power and if in Str St, Pots and LMs (and Str of the Earth if possible) will provide u with power.
