Now i have a little search and not seen any infomation on this.
I know all hunter skils are melee xxxx damage +main hand weapon damage.
I also know hunters can triat to get 'extra' damage from and extra 'stirke'.
there is a legacy for hunters that is plus off hand damage, errrmm.. how?
the tool tips state main hand suggesting now damage comes from off hand and extra strike means that simply and extra 'auto' strike if i am right.
Now i am sure i remember reading once that hunters melee damage was 80% main hand and 20% off hand in calculation, i am not sure if this was auto hit or not. point here is if the plus off hand damage legacy effects that calculation for an of hand auto melee hit and nothing else. WHY do hunters have it as a ranged dps class (rofl), i mean it's not like we are ment to be in melee distance and hunters are is is neeful haste etc etc and hardly if ever a auto melle hit :P
Maybe i have this all wrong maybe there is a definative use for this legacy but the way i am looking at it is is the worst legacy going and on par with the once on a weapon song tutor cool down (usless).

No, the +% to Barbed Bleed damage is the worst I think. Just add it too the list of pointless legacies and consign to the trash can of never used.

actually i will go 'bleed chance' see this is melee weapon.
I had a look at what this % off hand was and actually it's not that bad. Seeing as hunters do end up in melee range now and auto attack on melee is pretty fast (quicker than auto ranged i sware) that % can add up.

i got a 3rd age and a peerless thain which were both simular dps and speed and thats the result i got on auto attack with no % off hand damage.
I suspect it is 100% main hand 80% off hand now (i can't find any information to confrm this) either way the cap for % off hand damage for off hand is 15% so would say this maybe not the worst legacy and could ork well on some builds.

Bow and Blade trait allows skills to do BOTH main hand and Off hand, I believe the trade off is instead of doing 100% main hand, it does 80% main hand and 60% off hand.
All the melee traits together (Off hand, Crit chance, Crit multiplier being the 3 main really.) with the right set up, can make for a very effective melee set up.

So bow and blade is 40% extra melee damage with out +off hand trait 55% with. makes you wonder with the pile on of might in book8 they re indeed pushing hunters to be 'wanna be' champs ;p 'see your legendary trait sets do work'

Hmm not sure it is like that but can be wrong.
With main hand you hit like normal (between min and max) and with off-hand you allways hit with minimal damage. Ofcourse, the damage is increased by other bonuses like race bounses for wepons or leagcies.
This can be red here http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=58815
If you have Bow and Blade traited than you have 3rd attack but damage is lowered by some percentage so in total damage is bit higher in average but crits are lower as max damage is lowered(trait BoB and check what is desribed on melee icons and compare to case when you did not have BoB traited).
The real benefit of BoB is,imho, that bigger number of attacks is giveing you chance to get special effects from weapon like stun, decrease enemy armour,....
