if you have problems in finding armor info, you should try this: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Lorebook_home

It's very nice, and I think you can find everything you want here, every crafted piece of armor, armor sets and not only this, you can look for weapons, any other items you may want to know more about.

Enjoy!

Well, if it comes about armor,
Is the "armor of the great bow" the best armor a hunter can have?

Depends on what he is doing. The Moria armour sets are a total of 4 at the moment for each class:

3-piece upper body set
3-piece lower body set
6-piece purple set
6-piece radiance set (2 last pieces come from turtle but you can get 2 placeholders from 16th hall and Dark Delvings)

Whilst the radiance set (Great Bow) is probably the best, it is not so for all occassions. In the turtle raid the best setup you can have is to use 3/6 of radiance set and 3/6 of purple set, as both sets have a 3 pcs bonus of +acid mitigation.

In the Dark Delvings you want to be using 3/3 of one of the 3-piece sets, since it gives +shadow mitigation.

The last 3-piece Moria set only gives a stat bonus but never the less it is unwise to throw away the purple sets even if you get the Great Bow gear, the bonuses on the other sets are great in the right circumstances.

There are no proper armour sets until in the early 40s. For a hunter I reccomend wearing the Medium armour set of Fém, obtainable from doing quests in Aughaire. This set gives you lots of vitality and will, making sure you are harder to kill and your power lasts longer.

There is a rival set, Forest-walker set from Tal Bruinen in Trollshaws, however I would reccomend that one for burglars, while advising hunters and wardens (the 3 medium armour classes, +traited minstrel) to use the Fém set.

Generally you want to find +agility, +vitality and +will on your armour items, and +in-combat power-regen plus the other stats on your jewellery.

Simple really...

crafted medium armour sets (pref crits) up to about 35ish, then 3 parts forest armour from enchad candelth quest chian in trollshaws. Top up with armour of fem, top up with gerbil place (i always forget the name) dwarfs quest chain SE angmar. Then at 50 a mix of quest armour angmar forachel, what you have earned previously, teal crafted if you can get it. Once you hit 52+ into eregion and moria for quest armours there (crafted starts to be come pointless), followed my above moria instance armour.

agilty
vitality
will (starts to become scarce on armour 55+)
fate
might
etc

As you get closer to 60 you will find agilty becomes less important and vitality takes the top.
