View Full Version : Bow Chants not working?

I had a bit of a break on my Hunter, but recently I digged her up to help kinnies out when my RNK had a lock on the turtle already.
I tried to prepare myself for the fight, but I couldn't pop a Bow Chant?
I tried all 3, the item dissapears after right-clicking and it gets on a cooldown, but I don't get the chant animation (notes flying in the air) nor the actual buff. I tried it again today (just now), but still nothing,
Anyone else affected by this?

If you are trying to use the power chant and have the power book slotted they don't stack since Book 7. The same goes for the threat chant/book too. You can I believe mix and match. ie use power book and threat chant. That may be what is happening to you.

I have encountered the same problem, but as Scappy stated, since B7 bow chants effects do not stack if you have a book equipped for the same effect.. try mixing them, that should work!

Aye, I didn't know they don't stack... :/
But they don't mix&match for me either. I have a power saving book, but when I wear it, I can't pop any chant. As I said, none of the 3 I tried seems to work.
With the info you provided, I removed my book and than - naturally - I can pop all chants, but as soon as I put the book back on the slot, whatever chant I have popped dissapears.
Is that how they are supposed to work now?
Because if it is, it's quite sad... Even the loose of stacking is sad - this means that HNTs are the only class that can't use a class pot-like item (chants) together with equipable class item :(

The only change we know about since Book 7 is that the same type of chant and book no longer stack. If you are finding different then /bug it ( if you can stand the pain ).

Yeah, that's true.. Quite a nasty nerf though... I can't understand how using a power saving book + a power saving chant all together can be considered OP.. As a matter of fact, these two were useful when you had to go in places where your power drops to 0 in less than 2 minutes (boss fights, etc)...
As for your problem, Silirien, it may be a serious bug... I don't have this problem though...

The old book chants as reducing power and threat levels are not working any more in fact they have been removed from game already but were left working when moria hits and now since turbine loves to cut down hunters in all aspect they stealth nerfed and removed the chants functioning once and for all.
nope they wont come back.
you think it is a bug?
no.
/facepalm

Mel, Sil is saying he can't use any chant when he has one of the Books slotted not just the same type. AFAIK he's the only one I've heard mention this problem.

do hunters real hit them same with range mitgation like they used to?
I mean -1100 bow chant is now 0.1 yet my understanding is compared to our stats for example acid mitigation 15 vitality = 0.1. Are they really saying we are debuffing a targets range mitigation 0.1 what is that? 2000 (in stats figure) is 25% mitigation i think so 1100 is just over half of 2000 (lets say 16%). If i am hitting the mob for 300 without the evade modifier, with it i should be doing 16% more damage ie 348 personally (which i feel was what it was like before [hard to tell with all the nerfs] now it seems these chants allow you to do 315 ... 15 more damge ...
well confused
someone point me to a thread on this subject :D

What is even more confusing is all the chants regardless of level for use show the same number -0.1 !

nerfine remove bows from the game and rename those as chants.
rename hunter as enchanted flame as well..
