Hello.

There are two hunter quests that i took in Archet at lvl 45 and they are supposed to be lvl 50 quests.

Implements of the Hunt

Articles of Discovery

They involve gathering of certain items, some of which are very hard to get - you have to go in Carn Dum. You can buy them in AH too but their prices are insane. One of the items is currently in the AH on Laurelin server with a bid/buyout 30 gold.....
The thing that bothers me is that the rewards are not so great. At lvl 45 i already have better bracelets and earrings from other quests and the bow is not that great either.

Tell me how is this bow
Bow of the Hunt

better than this one (and i got that one form AH for 25 silver coins :) )
Reinforced Black Ash Bow

So those two quests, being enormous time-sinks and money-sinks, seem rather pointless to me.
My question is do they give anything else than just item rewards and experience. Can i just skip them or i would miss something important?

1) that bow has westernesse damage -- until you're working with legendary bows, that's pretty uncommon.

2) completing all the quests gives you your last legendary skill which restores power on every hit.. very valuable skill !

Yeah, the jewellery and the crossbow especially used to be pretty good when cap was 50 but better stuff is only a level or two away, same applies to all the SoA raid gear really. Legendary skill Bow of the Righteous (for completing all the class quests) is pretty much a "must have" for a hunter especially since book 7 as many of us are eating our way through the blue stuff a lot quicker than before.

I for one am a big fan of those quests.

Finally putting your hands on slime of helechgam (yuk) and that rune of winged dominance.. I cheered !!

A game that makes you cheer.. go figure :)

it keeps surprising me that people would want to buy those things on AH.. those are some of the most fun fights in the game.

Also it seems that you can't get the level 58 hunter quests from Moria if you haven't finished your level 45 quests, hunter friend of mine hasn't got the Rune yet I think, he's 60 now and hasn't yet got the hunter quest in Moria.

I have finished all those quests and I must tell you, it was so much fun! helechgam is quite a difficult boss, so you'd better take some experienced players with you, otherwise you will be struggling to kill it...

I cannot imagine why people jump over these quests and buy the stuff from AH, you're skipping a lot of fun if you do so... (lvling an alt is a good excuse though :P)

i skib the 45 class quest's on all chars atm :p
to hard to solo, and nearly impossible to get a team.

at 45 i goto erigion and get my first legend instead.

It is not impossible if you have a supportive kin.. And not that hard either. I can't understand why people rush through content like this, Carn Dum is a great instance for lvl 50-55...

A hunter without Bow of righteous will be a liability in everything related to group content really.

Exactly! This legendary skill is the most important for a hunter group build (and not only for grouping, when soloing in strenght stance you can save a lot of power as well)

The problem is that they were good rewards when the game first came out, but have been superceded by content that's been brought out since. I still use the earring tbh as it's got a good ranged crit bonus, but it's more important to BotR. It's essential (even after it got nerfed...)
