i think its a bit annoying that 9 out of 10 times after using this i die during the loading screen anyway.
yes i know, dots, "use it earlier",etc... but still..

this should be a panic-smash-button and i believe this skill was made for that purpose,
just in reality it just hardly ever works out that way.

Ugh THANK YOU!! I have been waiting to see if anyone else has this problem, since I know if I contact the GM's, I'll just get an annoying copy-paste irrelevant response anyway.

I am sick to death of dying on the loading screen because I used desparate flight. How is it right that once loaded, a bazillion damages appear above my head and I'm dead? I was loading, and I'm dead? Add a damned immunity state when that button is pressed FFS! How hard can it be?

And in case anyone says "You're pressing it too late", that's rubbish. First of all, everyone's computer is different, and therefore loading times would be different, secondly, what loading?? We're already there!!! It's not taking us to a different land is it? Finally, who presses Desparate Flight when they're NOT near death? It's what it was designed for!!!

This is because you have taken damage over time (like major bleeding/poisoned). However, you should realize from the beginning that you cannot take out 4-5 mobs all by yourself. if you try to fight them, then it's your fault.

This is indeed a panic button, pressed only when you realize you cannot escape a fight without dying. Hunters are single target DPSers and it's logically that you cannot gank more mobs at a time. With all these, it happens sometime that you will aggro more mobs (still, your fault, don't go in crowded areas, or wait for one of them start roaming). When this happens, just run or press the "DF" button so you will end up undamaged.

This button was NOT designed to be pressed when you are at 20 morale ;)
You will see that as soon as you play more with your hunter and get more experience, you will find this skill as useless. I am at 37 now and I am not using anymore..

Just my 2 cents.

Very true!...its by far the best and cheapest way home when grinding pot quests :D very little other use and still a skill yet to be replaced on the moors after that nerf bat hit (really should be enabled for out of combat use), but that is stepping towards a whole other argument :P

Mirror quests + Quick Travel routes + proper set Mark Stone + DF => bank full of pots in no time :-)

There used to be a time when we were elusive. When a warg jumped on us, he had a certain chance to obtain infamy, but a rather big chance that DF was not on cooldown and ended up chewing nothing but air.

I saw this from both sides. As a greendot warg, fellowed to another greendot warg, I was waiting for enemies to run past.

1) Guardian
hm.. too tough
2) Loremaster
impossible
3) Burglar
impossible
4) Minstrel
impossible
5) Hunter
Yes!! charge !

And of course, I would hunt wargs as a hunter. Tracking them, only to find them to be signature wargs. But still I'd engage --

Rain of thorns : evaded
Bards Arrow : missed
Cry of the predator : resisted
Barbed arrow : missed
in-combat triple trap : finally, success.. so I start firing away .. the warg unlocks.. and disappears -- on other occasions, the warg would own my ass -- DF is gone, so forget that.

Ok, the fact that desparate flight took you to the respawn might have been annoying for fellowship members, but I for one would only use the skill when soloing.

"Displace" would be a nice replacement skill .. this skill moves you back a couple of steps instantly. Same cooldown as DF, same amount of rations

Not True

You continue to take damage from mobs 2-3 seconds after you use it (server lag?). It allways makes me chuckle when you rez to see the DF time has started as well....

Best way to avoid this is bail out earlier.
