Is it worth it?

Hey i have a 2nd age bow lvl 59. And i wonder if its worth to spend 70 points to get it from 53,6 to 56,3 IIRC dps? Or is it wiser to use those points on some legacies? Is it the same for all weapons like our legendary weapon too:)?

In view of the impending dps cut on all LI's which along with the other balancing measures ( nerfs ) coming with Book 7, I would say that maximizing the damage a weapon does should be the first priority. Get it to max damage, then worry about putting points into legacies.

That has been my method since I completed V2 Book 1 and obtained my first legendary weapon.

Instant cast skills are directly affected by the dmg range of the bow, induction skills not so as they are other factors such as increased cast time which avg out the dps

the bigger the numbers the bigger the hit, I have a 59 2.6 first age xbow and a 60 2.2 first age bow, both maxed and the xbow hits about 20% harder

i allways max out the dps, even ignoring the above it affects every skill, all the other skills only affect specific skills or on crit

I always max dps on my weapon based classes, especially dps classes and even more so with a hunter because there are no legacies that massively increase damage which you could better spend the points on.

Agreed though yes max weapon dps always, every thing else is calculated from weapons base dps. Level 59 X- Bow > level 59 bow, level 60 bow > level 60 x-bow seems to be the rule. However i have noted i swapped out a for a level 59 x-bow and because of the block modiefier i do beterr dps (i think) and cetianly the range mitigation modiefiers work (try using -1100 ranged bow chance = huge difference).
