View Full Version : How does "strength of earth morale" legacy work?

I haven't used this, but I see a lot of hunters who have ranked it up. I'm guessing that when you use the skill, you gain the morale regen that your lagecy is currently ranked up to (eg +560), as well as the usual power regen. Does the morale regen take as long to occur as the power, or is it instant?
Can someone please clarify this legacy for me please?
thanks :)

check out your trait-sets, i think you have to equip 3 of the huntsmen set to get the morale regen + you lose the induction on strenght of the earth.

I can't say it has impressed me much. In a combat you can usually not get a break big enough to regain much anyway. I have not tried it fully maxed out though, so some may have a better experience with it. For now I prefer the Agile rejoinder heal, as it doensn't make youy have to stop fighting. Admittedly it's too small to be good, but it's still nice to see a bit of healing going on once in a while.

It works by boosting your current In Combat Morale Regen rate by whatever value the legacy is at. For e.g. if your normal ICMR is say 1500 and the legacy is 620 then as soon as you activate SoE your ICMR becomes 2120 for the duration. It doesn't not boost your health immediately, it just speeds up the normal in combat regen for as long as SoE is active.

If you find you use SoE regularly, then it is probably worth upping the legacy a few points if you can't find a better use for them elsewhere.

The regeneration is pretty good if you also pick up the extended Bard's Arrow/Cry of the Predator duration trait.

Is the Morale regen actually working?

I leveled one to max & the power bar shot up, but my morale bar didnt move (with 3 Huntsman)

Thats because the power increase is timed at X power/sec, so you'll see the bar fill up really responsively. The morale regen ticks are based off the standard ICMR rate (which is what it actually is, just increased ICMR) and has really long ticks, so you do regen morale but you only *get* that morale every 10 seconds or something like that, which is a bit sucky.

I'd much prefer they just converted the additional ICMR rate and applied it as a X morale/sec regen, as it is its only really useful if you can afford an uninterrupted 20 seconds break from combat (while still being in combat :p).
... then let us use it on the run and i'd post 'em some cookies :D

Yep moral regen works mechanically, at least i confirm this to be so out of combat. I ate some bree cheese and dispite having a dot of 210 evey 2s for 2100s i did not die, my HP bar just went up then fown then up then down. As a minstrel i did the same with 'bubble' on same thing, power power up then down and so on.

I beleve the legacy increase the rate at which you regen. This is useful if you think about it, fear a mob, traited for in combat, you will regen faster and easier.

It's not the best of legacies, but it can be situationally useful. Fully maxed it should give you a total of roughly 2k ICMR, little less, little more, depending on your overall build.

If you combine Strenght of the earth with either a trap or a fear, or even both, you can get a nice period to regen some morale if you need it. I mostly find myself using this for solo. If I get one or two more adds than I bargained for, I can either lay a quick triple-trap or give them a Rain of thorns and I get a nice 30s window to regen if needed. It can make the difference between finishing the fight in style or running away with your tail between your legs. And as was mentioned; slot 3 Huntsmen if you plan on using this, it makes Strength of the earth insta-cast and adds in the morale regen portion.

Just to give a couple examples; figuring you are sitting at a minimum of 1800 ICMR with this maxed out, a Bards will give you about +450 morale, a trap nets you +900 morale, and a Bards + a trap will give you +1350 morale. So, situationally useful I'd say. Max it out if you don't have much else to spend points on. Or just get a crappy 3rd age with this legacy on it, max it and keep that wep on your hotbar. Then you can quickly slot it in when you see you will need to use SotE.
