Just wondering what people think would be better for a hunter Woodsman which can gather for and craft bows, or Armsman that can gather for metal weapons but can craft metal and wood? Or do you feel there is a better combo for hunter? If ya can say wy i'd be greatful thanks

If this is your 1st Character I'd recommend going for Explorer. Tailor, Forester & Prospector. You have the option then to make your own medium armour and can sell ore/ingots to make cash.

It is worth remembering though that it is hard to level crafting fast enough to make yourself decent level appropriate gear unless you have a higher level alt that can supply you with materials.

Well, since im a high lvl I have no need of crafted bows, and as a scholar I can make my own oils and journals....it all depends on what you want personally.

My 1st char was a champion and metalsmith. I almost had no use for his craft as i leveled faster then i could keep up with the craft. Also i had some problems with money i didn't have much at that time. I took a break from lotro and came back with a hunter explorer and on lvl16 i already had 16G.
That was a real difference, so i would recommend explorer to make easy money. Maybe after that roll a woodsman or something. It will safe time i think.

Indeed - go for the Explorer option. Do not under any circumstances get Woodworker as a crafting profession. I made that mistake and have never ever crafted a weapon good enough for my Hunter to use.

Explorer lets you treat hides, gather wood and ore. Or to put it another way, you're what every crafting profession actually needs - raw materials!
