my 2 main use bows are a 2nd age 60 xbow and a 3rd age normal 60 bow - both are at max dps and both have ancient dwarf damage, dps is similar on each, the bow 2.4 speed and the xbow 2.3
with no oil applied, the xbow is really fast, especially when using swift bow. the bow feels considerably slower, but because it has good % bonuses for focus and induction shots it generally delivers around the same damage as the xbow. the xbow will generally drop a mob a step or two earlier.
however, if i apply oils, and i've always been a light oil fan for the miss chance bonuses, the xbow speed seems to be considerably affected, very noticeably when using swift bow. the damage output tends to stay the same on the xbow with both oils, but the damage on the normal bow definitely rises. i've tested both on a few runs in the library of steel instance where the mobs are consistent in type and lvl and it seems that oils can add about 10% damage to a normal bow and also feel a bit quicker, whereas they slow an xbow and dont affect the damage
Seems a bit puzzling, and i wondered if any others had spotted this anomaly and knew if it was a recognised bug or not?
