GRIDstillNOTworking:(

All drivers including sound are updated. GRID does not start just stays at the logo screen, i have done everything possible to try to get it to work and no luck. PC specs are as follows: ASUS M2R32-mvp with 2 gigs of ram, 2 X1950XTX(not in CF mode for grid) 22" ws monitor max res@ 1680x1050 always in use. I have no issues playing COD4, UT3, Crysis, WOW, HL2, COH, Prey, all of these games I run at max res except for Crysis and never have any crashes, I have updated all my drivers for GPU's and my motherboard along with DX files and my SOUNDMAX is updated also. Please help me with getting GRID to work, this might also solve my problem with FEAR since it does the same thing; freeze on logo screen. Thnx for your time and hopefully someone on here can give me a solution to my problem.

1. Fear can be run in CF mode as far as i know (tried that?). Grid can also run in CF mode by using a cheap trick : renaming the Grid.exe to Fear.exe. But i have no experience with CF.
2. Your OS is XP ? Cause if you have Vista i would go for 4Gb.
3. Tried disabling background processes?
4. Please post your Dxdiag, or put link to it here
5. Btw, if you use a no-dvd exe it could give issues

Can you post a full dxdiag please. Also, your resolution is way too high for that type of card. Reduce the resolution. You say that other games work but all games are different and GRID is extremely graphics intense and more so than Crysis, for example

More so than Crysis?!!?!? OMG HAHAHAHAHA ROFLMAO HAHAHAHA ROFL
You're out of your mind if you think you're even remotely correct with that statement. I can't get above 30fps with my GTX280 in Crysis at 1280x960 with Very High settings. But i was hitting about 45 - 55 with GRID at the same rez and all settings maxed out.
More so than Crysis... man...

Hey GRIDStillNotWorking:
Sounds to me like you might have some heavy duty AntiVirus stuff on your pc that might be scanning processes and preventing buffer overflow? I could be entirely wrong... but just as a precaution... disable your virus scanning software and any heavy duty script scanning software that you might have. I know Zone Alarm for example could really hang up scripts in certain games...
Maybe not a solution... but something to check. If everything is up to date, and you have no problems with any other software on that system, it just goes to show in what poor state GRID was released. Probably no fault to the developers... probably just a rushed deadline and too soon a release.
A friend of mine just let me know that if you have an overclock..sometimes that can mess up a game's process. So, I'd drop everything to stock settings and see if that works. Things can be finicky like that.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I turn the antivirus off before I try to play the game, and the only firewall I have is the one that comes with windows. As-far as overclocking; I don't have anything overclocked other then my GPU. I use CCC to run the config for overclocking on the X1950XTX. How do I attach my DX files to these threads without having to paste the whole thing? Everytime I try to attach file it says I exceeded the size, but its always the size of my file?

unable to attach the dx.txt file, says it exceedes the allowed size? It's only 57kb?

Try running your video card at stock settings just to be sure.

I don't mean to sound offensive, but that seems to be one of the most ridiculous statements I've heard here. And coming from a Codemasters staff member...
Can you please provide some evidence to back that claim up?

Personally I think its a marketing stunt. But nothing to back it up with. We'll see what they come back with on your request. Guess they haven't see the Crysis Physics test... or the Ultra High quality segments.

I have a bunch of "Grapic intensive" games on my and this is the only POS that won't work. Fix the darn game developers cause it sucks.

All things said;
My GRID finally works so-so for me.
I still run the 1.1 patch, as 1.2 gives me a world of problems.
The game, when working, is AMAZING - UBER - ROCKING.
That said, I am still disapointed. I am running GRID on an Intel Quad Core with 4 GB ram and a Nvidia GeForce 8800 with 512 MB ram. I have a FAST disk system and an almost clean Vista 32 bit SP1 installation.
I for one should not have all the problems running a game like this on a configuration like that, no matter what Codemasters says.
But, sadly it seems that the quality of Codemaster releases are not what it used to be.
I REALLY hope a patch 1.3 eventually is released that REALLY fixes most of the plain STUPID problems this game has. It really is not that hard, many other games that are EQUALLY or even MORE demanding as to GFX, CPU and disk manage to run just fine on my configuration.

Hear, hear!
Surely, all of us experiencing problems like this must convince CM that the game needs to be fixed.

Oh - obviously it doesn't.
