I am getting absolutely frustrated with laggy online play and sitting at the start line with green light and not being able to leave the line till everyone else drives off. While other cars drive off, the cars behind me ram into me then will bitch me out for not driving. WTF am I to do about it.

Even though I heard not to install service pack 3, I'm left without any other options since patch 1 nor patch 2 from grid has helped. WTF why not give it a shot. Just tried my first race, 10 people on the grid. Still other cars started before me by about 1 second, so even though I'm 1st on the grid, I end up in fifth off the start line. Oh well nothing I can do but just finish the race. Finish the race in 6th place, get to see standings and "bam" microsfot c++ error. Game crashed.

Now I'm stuck with laggy online play with more than 6 cars in a race, usually close to last off the start line and partially damaged depending on who hits me from behind since I can't start when others do and now a new game crash error I havn't seen with V1.0,V1.1 or V1.2 till service pack 3 for windows.

For singleplayer/career I able to up my graphics detail alot and run it smooth.Forced to goto almost low for everything when going online just to hope is less strain on cpu for less lag.

But to the main issue, I'm hoping there is a solution or quickfix to that microsoft c++ error. Anyone have it, know how to fix it?

Went to upgrade to graphics from ati 8.5 to 8.6 but game wouldn't run, back to 8.5.

P.S:
-give us non ranked dedicated servers for people who just wish to enjoy racing and so we can choose servers close to our own areas to be lag free.
-give us ranked servers to play on for the US and Canada , with and option after hitting online button to play on a server in US or Europe. The lag right now is terrible.
-give a ghost time of ten seconds off the start line to prevent car crashing to games not in synch with others

Edit:

The game does look fantastic and promising lol , just a downer with outstanding online issues.

I normally don't like to run extra proggies but figure what the f**k, I want to try the fast fixes to play now. Installed asus ai booster to overclock, set it at 5 percent so am now at 3150mhz.I also installed the asus probe proggy to display additional info.

With the normal background programs running , cpu temp was 60 celcious and mobo temp at 29 celcious. Start grid and within a few seconds asus probe is yelling at me. CPU overheating, cpu at 80 celcious (guess is the proggy default overheat alarm trigger). Normally I won't go into the case until windows itself beeps at me then I know to clean the fan and coil of heatsink. I wont say what the cause of my overheating cpu was but will say smoking has never bin recommended around cpu's for a reason.

Ok time to test again with normal background proggies running , cpu now at 42 celcious, mobo at 27 celcious. Decide to leave my career graphics settings as is and just jump online without switching all graphics to low or off.also leaving the same background proggies running. All seems to be runnin smooth in a 10 car race and left the start line with the others without delay. The online lag is still present with some cars jumpin going invisible /names flashin colour.

End result is much better now , no c++ error happened at all today. Smooth racing as if I was in career and only left with the online lag to deal with.CPU usage has not changed, but did drop slightly now for in game menu's and with grid running cpu temp is 59-60 celcious. This post may be premature and was it just a lucky day? Time will tell.

I assume the higher cpu temperature(I think the actual extreme temperatures is rated for over 90 celcious when the cpu will slow itself down to prevent damage) was giving some cpu lag that is not noticed in career since ai will also get same cpu lag. That cpu lag would throw my game online out of synch with others as soon as race starts.
