Crash after race finish and on loading of a drift battle

Before I installed patch 1.2 I could not play the game at all without starting GRID in Windows 95 compatibility mode (and even then it would crash when I tried to play a drift circuit). I have just installed patch 1.2 and I thought that all the crashes had been fixed for me: I finished a drift circuit and a sprint, then tried a drift battle and my game crashed before the drift battle had even loaded. I then went back into the game and tried a normal circuit and it worked fine until I had finished it. It showed my position and new bank balance and then crashed with the Windows XP error reporting form saying: "GRID.exe has encountered an error", just like it did with the loading of the drift battle. Any ideas?

Yeah, here is an idea, I use the no-dvd most of the time but it crashes for me too in drift battle, just stick the dvd in your drive and do your drifts with the original, it works then...if you are not using the no-dvd, well, I dunno......
