Guess what?

DIRT is every bit as faulty and intertwined in bad coding as is GRID. It seems that the programmers at Codemasters must be having huge problems doing stable code. For the fun of it, I checked out some of the NFS forums and a few for Testdrive, not any way NEAR the amount of problems with their software...

In several threads on these GRID forums, I actually see people ADVOCATE the "fixed" versions of the game, i.e. the no-dvd GRID.EXE files and so on. Isn't it somewhat TOTALLY embarrasing that pirates do better code than the creators of the game?

Anyway - I've had nothing but problems with this game ever since I got it as a present and I am "" THIS close to return the game to the shop. Last night I thought all my problems with GRID was over but noooo...

And it seems that answers from support personel becomes more and more occational here...

"CODEMASTERS" - now thats a contradiction in terms...

Still trying to get GRID to run...

It's actually not that hard to code better than Codemasters. They make a racing game that you can't use a steering wheel with, or they expect you to do massive modifications to your machine/drivers/operating system that aren't required for ANY other video game. Next time Codemonsters, try to release a game that is operable instead of wasting customers time and money! Even Electronic Arts (who are by no means a competent company) has better games than this.

Terrible.

ZipherBug: Here is an advice: Return the game, while you still can! I did that last friday, because i had the EXACTLY same problems as with DiRT - i wish ive returned DiRT at the same day i bought it, or never bought it in first place... now its too late. Seems like their games are made exclusively for consoles, because ive never heard any of the console guys to have problems as we do, the last PC "mohicans". And don't expect any kind of answer here, its like screaming for help in the desert - it will be a miracle if they ever release a new patch for GRID, they simply DON'T CARE!

you're kidding right?

Test Drive Unlimited was the most buggy Race Game i ever played (and i played it a lot)...

Atari needed 6 MONTHS for the first (and only) patch...
until then i had to restart my PC sometimes 3 times in a row until the game even started without bugs

The Subwoofer almost exploded in some scenes.

Download Content from Xbox 360 came a YEAR later (they promised MONTHLY Carpacks on Release!) and its only avaible online, per credit card...

Indeed, I loved the game but it had some serious flaws. Traffic popping up from nowhere, promised content that we got 2 years later on PC, one of the challenges was flawed, sounds of some cars were flawed when running with a dual core setup and so on. Patch only made it worse for some people. Don't get my started on NFS, because that was as worse as TDU.

but still, I play and love the game though.

What modifications ? It directly recognised my G25 and it's shifter and I could use it ingame without any problems.
