Game runs, but with a black screen...

Ok, this is a weird error for me. I bought the game only to find out that my $700 graphics card in my desktop won run it. Oddly enough, my laptop supports it. So I installed it and ran it on my laptop, but every time the game starts (intro run perfectly) I get to the main screen and it is entirely black except for a few things. I can still navigate the menu, but I can't see what I'm doing. After randomly hitting keys I managed to get a race to start. The HUD is visible, but nothing else is. It's all black. The game runs fine, I just can't see anything.

I've downloaded all the available drivers and updates and I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything twice. Is there some feature or option I need to enable/disable to see what's going on in this game?

I have an ATI Radeon HD2600.

check this out make sure the OS is updated and you got all the drivers updated also make sure directx is undated as well and try this

Try running GRID in GRID.exe -safemode and see if game will load. Game will run at 800x600 and low graphic settings.

Also there been issues with ATI drivers and GRID. 8.2 are OK, 8.3 and 8.4 bad, 8.5 and 8.6 maybe.
