GRID doesn't start after 1.2

Hey Codemasters,
here is my issue:
I bought the game yesterday, installed patched to 1.1 and played without any problems. Loved the game! I saw today at game news that patch 1.2 is out - "Hey! Thats great!" i thought... but i was wrong. Installed the patch 1.2 this evening, and guess what? Im stuck at small GRID screen, and the only way to close the game is Ctrl+Esc, Log Off, Task Manager /CPU at 100% btw/, End process GRID.exe
NOW!
This is what EXACTLY happened with DiRT some time ago, and i never fixed that issue. I haven't played the game in more than 6 months, is this GRID's fate as well? Ive payed 50$ for nothing?
Here are my specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2Gb RAM
ATI HD4850 512Mb , 8.5 Catalyst
Creative X-Fi sound card
Win XP 32-bit SP3 installed

Conclusion:
Game WORKED yesterday, its not working today - and nothing was changed on my system except patch 1.2
On the game's box there is shiny little ad, saying "Sounds best on X-FI" So, don't tell me to disable my 300$ card just to play the game. :(

Please, give me some hope, otherwise im returning the game tomorrow. And i don't want to do that, because i liked the game alot :(

Did you check your firewall after patching, i say this because i had the same trouble with Cod of Duty 4 after patching, the game just sat idle on the loading screen and did nothing, what i did was minimise the game only to notice i had a little popup asking if i should let the game acsess the internet, i granted permission and i've not had any trouble since.
I cant say this solves your problem but it's worth checking out.

Sorry i couldnt help, was worth a try either way :) im no technical wizard.
I cant solve any pc glitches unless i have the problem in hand, why else would CM ask people to bring their pc's the the CM office.

Ok, here is what i found so far:
1.I reinstalled the game from scratch, applied patch 1.2. Game freezes at first small GRID logo.
2.I applied the no-dvd exe from you-know-where.com. Its version 1.1. Game starts and works perfect. So, whats wrong Codemasters? I think the ball is in your court now.

Did you place the hush hush no cd fix before or after patch 1.2

After patch 1.2. Game works great now, but does that means i have to wait for no-cd v.1.2 just to play the game? Why its not working with DVD in drive? Weird, weird...

CM please introduce serial codes to play your games online, anyways disable all your virtual drives
and install your game if you can.

GG Codemasters, i just returned the game to the shop and picked a copy of Pro Street, guess what? Game runs perfect! Good luck with your other products... you gonna need it!

Perfect ? That was the only game that had slow-downs on my machine.

How long did you actually wait ? I know that it took a while to get past that first Race Driver GRID screen, but after that it still started.

Yes it runs perfect :)
Ive waited enough to see in task manager that GRID.exe is "Not responding", and it works with cracked .exe afterwards. Strange isn't it? But if i want to play cracked games i can easily download them from torrents. And guess what - they will work, because the "pirates" are better coders than "Codemasters". However, as much as i wanted to play GRID, its not possible as it seems, i have strange deja vu with DiRT - same problem, no fix. Just check DiRT Tech forums and you'll see what im talking about.
