Game Stuttering with patch 1.2

My game is not always smooth since 1.2 patch was installed. The race starts fine and then all of the sudden, it will freeze for a second and then resume. This has been happening on every race, many times during the race. It never happened with the original and not with patch 1.1. This problem occurs offline and online.

I have had this symptom periodically for my entire time owning GRID. I was hoping 1.2 might actually solve it. this isn't good news.... I have my suspicions its the game caching replay data. But if your experiencing it online Im a bit stumped.

Hah so it IS a poor caching issue. I never thought to try that to see if it helped. I suspect seeing as this looks to me to be a PS3 port judging by the files they might need to look at the way the PC handles GFX streaming. I suspect they have to have the PS3 handle it differently. You know I should really give the PS3 Demo another go and see how similar they really are as far as performance goes.

I did not uninstall patch 1.1 first. I patched over 1.1. Uninstalling the game and reinstalling it with only patch 1.2.

It looks as though you haven't updated Vista to SP1 yet.

I updated to Vista sp1, uninstalled GRID and reinstalled. Then patched the game with 1.2 and still the same problem. :bw: :(

I set my graphics for the vid card to defualt setting. Then set my custom settings again. Restarted my PC and set the graphics in GRID again. Now it seems fine. Looks like I am ready to lose some races....lmao.
