View Full Version : Patch 1.2 - Still not recognising Cordless RumblePad 2?

Until now I had to rename my Cordless RumblePad 2 in the registry (i.e. remove the "Cordless") to make GRID recognise it as a regular RumblePad 2.
You couldn't adjust the ActionMap Preset either since the name of the controller was too long ("Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 USB").
Some developer on the forums said he'd solved the problem and that it would be fixed in Patch 1.2. Well, it obviously hasn't been fixed. :)
I'll continue using the registry-workaround but this sucks, though.

pyr0rrzzz could you tell me what registry keys i have to rename? I have the same problem as you, with my Cordless RumblePad 2.

Search for Rumblepad and delete the "Cordless " in all keys that are named "OEM Name", that should be enough.

same....
god, can you TEST it with a rumblepad before posting a patch?
I bought this game only because it claimed to have Cordless Rumblepad 2 support.
2 month for that solution?
Codemasters: FAIL!

It will not recognize it unless you edit the actionMapPreset7.xml and replace all instances of Logitech RumblePad 2 USB with Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 USB. Then it will recognize it. Or the registry edit will work too.

As the patch says: "Fix for failure to recognise some devices in user-created action map presets, including Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2.".

Anyways... before patch 1.2 the only way was to edit the registry, now just edit actionMapPreset7.xml.

Hope this helps.

Update:

With patch 1.2 the steering is back to how it was with 1.0. Very hard to control. Think I'm gonna have to make it think it's a pad like before. At least it's controllable then.

I tried to edit the preset first but it didn't seem to work so I switched back to the registry fix.

codemasters???? are you ***1ng joking??? two months we have all had to wait and two patches later the pad still doesn't work?

is the fact of the matter you have only 7 preset configs max and you can't do 8? I would rather you came out and said it will not work than make us all egerly wait.

I give up.
