Hi People,

Ok, ok I know there's a lot of sites out there that are saying what I'm about to say, but I just gotta know what's going on.

Is there any news of sensible soccer being released on ANY systems whatsoever? Ok, I still got my classic 1996/97 sensi sitting here, and it's still great fun to play but it could be so much better. I mean, how long would it take Codemasters to update the game, make a few extra features (such as more multiplayer options, e.g. play over the internet etc.). Hell, if you send me the code I'll learn how to program and do it myself! The latest tragedy of it all is that you just can't play sensi on windows XP, at least it didn't work when I tried it, and it'll probably die into oblivion (although I'll still keep an old 486 running it or something!)...

Please Please Please Please Please do something with sensi... even if you just put it on one of them nokia game phones or the gameboy advance, I'll be so happy... And I got loads of ideas aswell, the management side of it could be well advanced for one. but anyway I'd love a message from codemasters just explaining what their stance is on this matter, and if anything is gonna happen... they should even consider selling the licences/rights/whateveryoucallem and the code to some other company if they're not gonna use it themselves...

Please bring back Sensi!

I too would like to see it come back, but it would require the old sensible team to work on it, really.

Haven't seen another football game where you can do a Beckham and score from the halfway line...or get Chester City to the European Cup final, or play well enough to get offered the England job, or take control of East Stirling, or Haverforswest, or Border Security in India, or teams from US, Mexico, Paraguay, El Salvador division 3, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, China...

Or simply re-create Euro 96, or World Cup 94, or just the FA Cup...or manage in the League of Ireland...or train your players against your B team...

Fit THAT onto 2 880K floppy disks, please...;)

I agree. Please release Sensible World of Soccer 2004/05 on the PS2. I'm fed up with all the boring FIFA/PES clones and want to play a decent football game. Come on Codemasters!

It would be great to c it back again!
The GameBoy Advance is made for classics like this! It would sell by the bucket load, i work in the computer game industry and i KNOW THAT IT WILL SELL. All they need to do is keep to the good old 2d charm of the game. I would not care if they did not update the game, at least then I will still have a way of playing it. Its SO much better then any of the new 3D games that are out, what the hell are they wating for! Some one slap Codemasters boss for me!!

Yes, more then 1000 people who are playing the emulation version to play online against eachother.

So there are enough players around who will play this game if there is new version, including me!

There certainly seems to be a big enough fan base, plus all the new people who would buy it...

yes, sensi was great - you dont need a new version, just a playable copy of old version on ps2 or pc, it had its own editor so we could update it ourselves!!
Please that would be cooool!!!

Sensi was an absolute Gem of a Game. If it was to be released today then It would out Sell FIFA and Pro Evo.

But, It would need to be Released for Playstation, XBOX and GBA.

I mean come on codies how difficult is it to put a game (that originally came on 2 floppy disks) onto a modern day console.

On my quest to get Sensi onto todays consoles, I came across this very interesting web-site:

http://www.petitiononline.com/sensi/

There are currently over 2,600 signatures and Im sure there will be alot more, know that I have brought this link to more peoples attention.

Please, Please, Please Codies, listen to your members, for once.

I have just spoken to Rubber and this is the official word on the matter:

No plans at the moment, sorry. Why not? Haven't a clue, sorry - although I doubt it is would sell more than FIFA and Pro Evo though!

There might be more SS stuff in the future as we own the name, and I hope we will (if only to shut people up talking about it! ) but there's nothing on the horizon at the moment.

Cheers!

So we will just have to wait and see guys.

Actually come to think of it, Sensible Soccer on a modern console would probably have me in stitches all over again. I remember being young(er) and playing it with my mates, long before PS1's and Sega Saturns and such, and just drooling at it. Was so much fun....

C'mon codies! Get it back!! Or is this another 'only if you shave your head and beard Dan' moments?

Hello! I'm a webmaster of www.sensiblesoccer.de - Our community gets bigger and bigger, faster from time to time, with SWOS freaks from all over the world. SWOS 96/97 is like a virus, when you are infected, all other digital football games will not bring the fun that SWOS do. You have all possibilities to play soccer in the style you want. It's not possible to explain what the magic of SWOS is, but if you played, you will never get bored of the game, especially if you play vs. humans. If you think, you are the master of SWOS, you will be surprised that you are not, because you see, you can improve your playing, also after 12 years of Sensible Soccer, this is unbelievable! The graphics on Amiga are almost perfect to get the best overview over the field. You don't need realistic 3D graphics, like the FIFA series, to have fun, SWOS is the best example. Who plays in 2005 still FIFA 97? Or in ten years FIFA 2005 or another actual football game? But SWOS will be always alive. It will be always a dream of many many people to play a remake of this game. There are some features who can improve the game, so it would be unbelievable great and the holiest footy game for all the time. We started a discussion in our forum, look here: http://forum.sensiblesoccer.de/index.php?topic=309 - I hope, we can bring the legend back, in new gloss.

If you released SWOS 05/06 even for the Amiga you'd probably get a few thousand sales! Heck, I'd buy it. Just make sure it's hard disk installable, allows the computer players to get red cards and injuries and you've got the perfect game. Ever.

Can everybody please shut up and get back onto the Subject, which is Sensible Soccer.

Seems thats codies are not interested in releasing this awesome game and making a mint on it.

Then I just thought that I would just bring to your attention, that you can pick up a copy of Sensible soccer for PC with all the updated stats (including Roy Carroll at West Ham) on eBay for as little as £4.00.

It claims to work with XP, but im not sure if it does.

Just like to point out, that this is not advertising by me. Im not the one selling this game, I just want as many people to get it as possible.

I already own the game on PC.

Your plee will fall on def ears, for some reason they are just not bothered about the game at codies.

But if you check-out my previous link then we don't need codies to release it, the game is already available on eBay with all the latest transfers.

We definately need a new version of SWOS on the market. it would just wipe PES and Fifa out of the market shells...

Here are the community's suggestions of what a new version should include: http://forum.sensiblesoccer.de/index.php?topic=309.0

I think that a new release of SWOS would be very profitable for codemasters because fans around the world would buy the original instead of getting their hands on a rawcopy or download the game from a p2p. Everybody wants to have the original game to look down from their shelfs... :-) (well, in the last 9 years people probably saved enough money for a new release hehehe...)

It's such a pitty that this kind of coding genius seems to be forgotten by the industry.

Sensible Soccer kickstarted the footy games like NO other game and deserves to be relaunched. Thanks to Sensi that this market exploded in the way it did...
