I alt tab the game, and pull up the task manager and click on processes, and when I cick on grid.exe and go to priority, its always runnin on LOW. I put it on normal and it seems to run a lil smoother. Is there a reason for the low priority setting?

Bump....... ;p

I remember with DiRT there were problems Alt-tabing out the game. Once you do you couldn't get back in or other problems would occur. Not saying that's why it's set to low it just reminds me of that issue back then.
Wow, he's right it is more responsive, faster when set to normal. What gives???
In the meantime, do this. Create a .bat file for the executable files of Grid.
Making Grid a Normal Priority
Step 1: Go back to the Grid folder.
Step 2: Right click anywhere in the folder and click "New" then "Text Document".
Step 3: Right click on the newly created file and rename it to Grid.bat. The file should then turn into a little cog. If it doesn't, you will need to uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" option in Tools>Folder Options>View.
Step 4: Edit your new BAT file, and paste in:
@echo off
cd /d "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\GRID Demo"
start /normal Grid.exe
Or you can use:
start /high Grid.exe (not sure if using high makes any difference after normal)
Save your Grid.bat file then copy and paste it to your desktop as a shortcut. Run the game using that new shortcut (it should work).
Now I make no guarantee that this won't mess something up. YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I guess someone who doesnt say one bad word against the game or codies, needs to ask this question. I have asked SEVERAL questions on these forums, and seems to me, if ur not an azz kisser, they do NOT get answered. Oh well, I guess they prefer ignorance and bliss over knowledgable gamers....

tbh this isnt anything new codies where the same with DiRT it was down to the community to fix the game and find out what made it run smoother, codes havnt even released a patch to make dirt run smoothly on vista!! it runs like a dog

Which Operating System are you running? I only ask because I'm on Vista and found that my system could barely keep up (even though it has a 5.9 windows experience rating) after installing service pack 1 the game runs like a dream, I just wonder if it is something to do with the way Vista deals with the programs running?

The placebo effect . . ..
GRID lowers it's priority when running in the background to make a lighter use of resources on lowest spec(mainly single core) machines. When brought to front it raises the priority.
