i apologise for my broken english, but i belive this could be of some use for the developers or other user lokking for the solution.
The game works at my computer, but the computer go bsod inevitably at some point, i had tested a lot possible causes, tried to update to the latest nvidia drivers, and then the latest nvidia beta drivers, same bsod thing.
In the bsod message, it refers always to the same procedure of nv4_disp.dll, so i belive this is a driver bug that is very much without solution right now.
0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xDEDBB0F1, 0xF23EDA1C, 0xF23ED718)
NV4_DISP.DLL, adress DEDBB0F1 base at DE9D5000
the parameters of the call change but the procedure is always the same, i had about 15 of those today. just gave up to try finish an online match, sometimes i am able to play a full race, other times the game locks up in the first secconds of race.
System details:
PSU: Satelite 545K8 (28A on 12v rails, 400w true power)
Motherboard: A8N-E, with bios 1013 (all latest drivers from asus)
Memory: 2x512 Kingston value, 2x512 Crappy mem value, dual channel
Processor: Athlon X2 4200+ 939 manchester (with amd drivers and /pmtimer)
Video: XFX Geforce 7950GT 570M
(tested with driver 175.16 and 169.21, bsod on both)
2 optical drives, 2 sata discs (not raid), 1.44 floppy
Windows XP boot parameters:
"/NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /FASTDETECT /USEPMTIMER /3GB"
At lockup i had checked the temps and details of the computer, the peak
temp of the cpu was 52ºc and the gpu 59ºc, i have a prety good colling system installed.
the computer is 100% stable on crysis, bioshock, assasins creed and colin mcrae dirt. my bet is really on a nvidia driver bug. i hope all that information help someone to get to the cause of the problem.
