I would like to collect all what is new for the Hunter in Book 12. Please try to collect facts and not just complain The following points seem to be of interest.

- Traps and Rain of Thorns
How is the resist rate?

- Fear – Bards Arrow
How does the new fear mechanic work?

- Skill changes according to Patchnotes
How do the effect gameplay?

- Hidden changes in our Skills (not in the Patchnotes)
Any?

- New Weapons, Items for the Hunter (especcially for lvl 50)

• Fear: Seems much better for me now, resists is „low, targe runs away straight and therefore you gain more time. DoT doesnt brake fear in almost all cases.

• There are reports, that Swift Bow and Quick shot have a random focus gain, can you confirm this?

• Pen Shot seems to have an increased Power cost, can you confirm this? Are other skils effected?

Blindside now does more damage than penetrating shot :p

From memory, penetrating shot is:

102% of ranged damage + 111 damage

Blindside is:

Main hand weapon + 69 (or something) damage
Ranged weapon + 100 damage

So it's not rocket science to work out that the two parts of blindside combined yield more damage than a penetrating shot.

I noticed our power usage seems to be worse than before, and on a human note the power cost for our racial heal has been increased :(

I also couldn't tell, but it seems purge poison has been nerfed. IIRC it used to cure all poison effects, now it only cures 3. Not sure on this though, as my only screenshots of the skill are from several months ago.

I did some limited testing on focus gain from Bow Shots last night.

Quick Shot: Gave 0 or 1 focus ( had 3 zeroes in a row ). However on occasion I got an extra focus point after autoattack fired off following QS, giving a focus gain of 2.

Swift Bow : Gave 1 or 2 focus ( never saw it give zero ). Again on a few occasions I got an extra focus point following an autoattack giving a focus gain of 3.

At the moment I can't confirm whether it is autoattack that is giving a focus point now and again, I will try that tonight and report back.

There is one reported mention on US Forums that Blindside doesn't always add the quoted focus either. So it looks like this randomness is across the board on all the skills that generate focus.

I suspect over longer fights the focus gain will even out, but for shorter fights you won't be able to rely on your shots to give you enough focus for Pen Shot etc everytime. You are going to have to pay a lot more attention to your focus bar and vary your shot rotations more.

The focus loss from movement is definately less.

yeh the first thing i realy noticed was the focus, that's a nice change since many battels it's needed to move a bit.

The blindside skill does alot of dmg, did a crith on it last night, for about 390 dmg on the arrow , (using BoF i think). that sure is nice in close combat, it made me re slot the skill to my quik bar, and used it alot last night.

First of all i do'nt think purge poison got nerfed, as i recall it always cured up to three poisons.

I didn't really notice the focus thingy, maybe it's my playstyle.

The power cost of penetrating shot has been increased but funnely enough i didn't notice it that much

haven't tested RoT yet

I the US forum there is a theorie about the reduced focus gain of swift bow and quick shot. If you moved recently and are still in the 3-sec window of the new movement-focus mechanis, you will gain one less focus, cause you loose one from "moving". Sounds like a Bug.

Have just re-run the test I did last nite to see if there was anything in this.

Picked an area with a high density of low lvl mobs so I didn't have to move. I used only quickshot for this test.

Remaining static and taking down 6 mobs I got +1 focus from each. Even though I didn't move I did still get an extra focus point once.

I moved until all my focus had gone and returned to same area. Same result as above.

I then moved, but not so far as to lose all focus and started seeing the zero focus gain.

In both scenarios I was still getting the extra focus point now and again, apparently after an autoattack.

So yes, it does look like it's the new focus/movement mechanic that might be screwing things up.

I love most of the Hunter changes.

1) Retention of focus while on the move - sweet.
2) Firing while on the move - looks nice even if its not totally effective
3) Focus Gain from Blindside - awesome!
4) Parry Buff from Swiftstroke - 8%, very nice.
5) Merciful shot back to 50% - sweet
6) QUIVERS!!!!
7) New Fear - makes it worth slotting again.

Potential increased power useage - not so good but hey, theres always something.

Im almost considering slotting the Trait to refresh melee skills.....
