I cant remember the levels, but heres a tip for you.

Go to a hunter trainer, and untick the show only trainable skills box, you now have a list of all future bought skills.
Look at the passive list to see what weapon proficiencys you will get and when.
There are also some travel skills you will get only from quests, and some skills you will get much later on from legendary traits.

As an aging lvl 50 hunter, I can say that the only weapons you can learn as a hunter are bow/crossbow. Racially it differs slightly, my Dwarven hunter can use spears/1h hammers/1h maces/ 1h axes/daggers/1h swords. That is with every hunter skill learned and paid for!

Strangely enough I don't remember exactly when you learn dual wield! It seems like a lifetime since I did! Lvl 20 sounds about right, I am please to know it has been reduced - it is quite a long wait for lvl 20!!

I think you can now dual-wield at level 15.

Hunters should not use a crossbow. That's for the Guardian/Champion. My crossbow skill is still sitting at trainer.

the only ancient dwarf ranged weapon that is any good and relatively easy to get is the crossbow of the hunt. So if you want to have a ranged weapon for every situation, there it is.

Off course there is the Balrog weapon, but it sucks and is a bit harder to get.
