1. Which rallies will be included in the game and how many special stages will be there?
2. Which cars can be driven?
3. Did you get the licence for the WRC?
4. Does anyone of the Codemaster-Team read our suggestions? Will Codemasters dry to realize our wishes?
It would be very nice if someone from Codemasters could answer these questions!!!!!
Thanks

They will read all these, I guess, sooner or later...

Speedy, I just e-mailed Codemasters with these questions, except the one about the cars. A while back I asked if there would be more to drive than just the Focus. Paul, at Codemasters, replied saying there would be many more cars, and they are to be just as detailed as the Focus renders we have seen. He say didn't which cars, but that there would be many more. I'm mainly hoping for the WRC license. So lets all cross our fingers, and hope for the best. :)
Here is the exact e-mail if you want to see it:
[quote]Thank you for submitting your recent request to Codemasters Customer Services concerning Colin McRae Rally 3. Your query was dealt with by Paul.
There will be many more cars than the Ford Focus in the game and all of them
will be of the same quality.
Thank you for your comments, we have passed them on to the producer of the
game and our design team.

You're welcome, Speedy. Hopefully I'll have an e-mail back before too long.

Well I got an e-mail back from Codies today, and they said they have not yet released the info yet. So they can't give it to me. And not even a thank you on the nice comments I gave them about CMR3 and Race Driver.

Why didn't make Codemasters such statements in this forum ? :(
In this CMR3 forum are only 5 posts from Thedode.
In the Race Driver forum are 31 posts from Gavin Raeburn, 12 from Will D., 10 from Pete O'Donnell and 1 post from Clive Moody. :)
Many people makes suggestions and have ideas for CMR3, but nobody answers or says their opinion about them. :(
with or without this forum Codemasters would of had a product in CMR3 that would of surpassed sales in the previous CMR's and all other rally games available due to their reputation of putting out a great product
instead of all these posts badgering them for not answering or replying posts just take a step back and think too yourselves how good the final product will be for them having the initiative of setting this forum up and giving us hopefully what the majority want
i read in one post where someone suggested a mentioning in the games credits ,what next a percentage of the profits ???
i think we will all be rewarded with the end result : )

I mean only if the game is finished, it's to late to discuss about it. I have the feeling that the developers from Race Driver are more interest, as the developers from CMR3, on the opinion of the forum members.
In the Race Driver forum they ask often for the opinion about options or features. And there (TRD) I have the feeling that the developers will more consider the opinion of the members.
Hi everyone,
let me make a statement here about the Rally Team and the forum. I have seen many posts recently (Gunter) on the same theme......
We are reading the forum and listening. We have a lot of work to do and so don't spend time writing forum posts. We are working to a tight schedule - any good ideas that are posted on this forum may well make their way into the game if there is time. However I prefer to not make solid statements such as: "this is a great idea and we will add this to the game" because that is a promise we may not be able to keep. I feel that would be worse than saying nothing. I am the designer and as such want everything to be in the game - however the programmers, artists and stage designers can only do so much. We have a priority list - things get added to this all the time and so will any good ideas on here.
thanks for reading the post, I hope you understand.

Thedode, thank you very much for this statement and I understand. My posts are probably get on your nerves, but it was useful ;) .
What I mean with me statements is that we all want to help. But when we get no statements or questions we didn't can help.
You write that you are looking at the moment which ideas can be included in the game and which not. When you be in doubt which idea should be in the game you can make a statement and we will help you to decide.
I'm sure you and the other developers make a good job.
Well, I've been playing a lot of Rallisport Challenge on the XBox. Graphically it's gorgeous (especially on a 16:9 HDTV), but it's mainly eye candy. No cockpit view, TERRIBLE pace notes and terribly short stages top my lists of complaints.
If I have to really ask for stuff from CMR3, I'm thinking that I want an experience closer to the WRC that I see on Speed Channel 4 days straight every few weekends.
1. I want an option for realistic, Rally ending damage.
2. Regardless, I want damage to definitely affect performance realistically
3. I want there to be a racing order where the first person has to sweep the track clean and subsequent orders are determined per the WRC rules. It would definitely add strategy and tactics to a game that basically has little.
4. Some LONGER stages! No one has ever beaten the stages of Mobil 1 Rally Championship, even if their physics were lousy. There was a game that actually taught people something about Rallying and you couldn't just memorize the stage because it only took < 2 minutes to get through
5. Better Nicky Grist pace notes. Have him add the "Plus" and "minus" and make his voice shake realistically so he actually sounds like he's in the car with you.
6. Better mapping of drivers to the places they are good at. I want to see Grunholm doing the best in Sweden, Pinizzi on tarmac, etc.
7. Rollovers and incidents shouldn't have a 'quick reset' button all the time that loses you little time. I'd like to see ALL the drivers have to pay the price for mistakes..
8. Speaking of mistakes, how about having the other drivers make some. I don't see opponents retiring out of the rally, or drive by the banged up mess someone made of their car at a difficult turn. Humans aren't the only ones who should err.
Okay, these are my comments. I hope CMR 3 will go a ways towards addressing the continuing gap between real WRC competition and the CMR game.
Rallisport Challenge sure didn't do it for me, other than make me amazed at XBox graphics.
