View Full Version : black out

i have something no one mentioned yet (i think):

in multiplayer-mode cmr2 often drives me crazy. if one gets off the track one gets a 'black out' and reappears on the street. but sometimes this doesn't work. so you have to drive through the wildernes for hours. i don't mind if this happens in single-player mode since i have to restart a race when i get off the track in order to get a perfect time. but during a lan-session this just sucks. i wanna have fun and i don't want to get frustrated because driver x gets back onto the track after some seconds whereas i have to find the way back by myself.
and i also hate the flora in cmr2. sometimes small bushes just slow you down. sometimes your car stops as if the bush was a wall. the same is with small trees. some of these trees woldn't even scratch my car in real life. but in cmr2 these trees behave like walls.
and some hedges have the same problem as the 'black outs'. sometimes you can drive through them. sometimes not. why??? it's just unfair.

please alter this in the new version. i sometimes wanted to burn my cmr2-cd cause i hated that game that much!
and i won't buy cmr3 with these flaws ... since a game has to be fun and not a waste of money ...

something else: why do the cars have to have 130000000000 polygons whereas the environment looks ugly?

You're right Rubinho, but I can see what Jebb is saying. CMR 2 was not just "not perfect", it could be really frustrating at times! I have wanted to do various things to my CD too. Yet as far as I remember, the first CMR was always fun. It's really upsetting when you're doing 160 km/h, and you hit a bush and the car goes up in the air, starts rolling, etc as if it was hit by a train. And the crashes were not very well done either. Rally Championship Xtreme has the best crashes IMO.

> well no game is perfect
yeah, i know. cmr2 is near perfect in singleplayer-mode. but singleplayer gets boring rather quickly.
human players are far better than artificial players. but human players make mistakes when thay are under preassure. and this is what i like in multiplayer-mode. !! pure adrenalin !!
but cmr2 managed to kill all this fun. and that's why i wrote this big complaint :)

i don't need a multiplayer-mode in an rpg, but for a racing-game this is essential!

i really hope this will be fixed in cmr3 since i love the handling of the cars in this game (jumping over hills and drifting through curves is great ...).
