Visit the forum!
You must vistit the forum. Because we have lots of ideas, and it's we, the customers, that's going to buy the game.
You'll have to listen to us, as much that you listen on Colin Mcrae, Nicky Grist and the Ford Team.
Visit the forum daily or at least weekly.
hey niklas-tgs start relaxing a little ,your going to work yourself into an early grave worrying what the CMR 3 team are up too and you wont be around too see the end result lol
dont get me wrong im not having a go at you and i think we are all keen to get some feedback but just because they dont answer every post doesnt mean that they arent visiting the site and checking out the posts
I´m sure they´re reading virtually everything that is written here, so hello "crew"! I was wondering about this "one-car" business. Is it really only containing the Focus?

How come they never answears questions?
Or have I just missed them?
Maybe they are just sitting back taking notes...
niklas -
Well, I'm guessing:
A) They're busy creating videogames
and
B) Recovering from the Holidays
Give them some time, cut them some slack. The game is still months off, I have no doubt our voices will be heard.

I was reading the latest edition of the Official PS2 Magazine last week and there are a few brief details about CMR3. It says that the player will follow the 3 year career with Colin McRae at Ford. I guess this means we'll only get to drive the Focus, but hopefully, the other works drivers will get a look in too.
Apparently, the crash that Colin had on Rally GB is being written into the code, so we might be able to damage the car so much that we have to retire. That would bring extra excitement, admit it, how many times would you have retired in CMR2 had you been able to? With some of the crashes I've had I'd still be in hospital!
Anyway, in next month's issue of the magazine, there's a full preview of the game. There should be some firm outlines as to what the game will be like. ;)

It would be nice, to see some statements from the developers about ideas and suggestions in this forum.
In the Race Driver forum, Gavin Reaburn and Will Darling often write statements.

hi, we are all back from our holidays and catching up on the forum stuff. We are reading it!
Please note that there is a lot of information we can't release yet - so many of your questions are going to go unanswered for a while yet....sorry.
Happy New Year everyone, keep the ideas coming.

On the original CMR, when you were at the start of a stage, waiting for the lights, you could dab the accelerate button to get the revs up to the mid-range so that as soon as the lights changed you could quickly pull away. (You were either in gear on the line or it changed to first automatically when the lights went green, I can't remember.)
On CMR2, you start in neutral and have to change to 1st when you see the lights change. Not only that, but the revs drop away to nothing at the same time.
What will the arrangement be on CMR3? I would like to be able to sit on the start line in 1st gear holding the revs (possible with the analogue controls for PS2) so that immediately the stage begins the car will pull away. Movement of the car could be restricted by the lights before they have changed, or the handbrake button with a time penalty for false starts, though this may be a bit tricky. Perhaps an option for the pro level.
Still, I think the start of the stage is always crucial to a good time. What thoughts, if any, have been given to this part of the game?
