Fire Damage Bows & Fire Oil

Is a bow such as "Fortified Black Ash Bow", which causes 58-92 Fire Damage, the equivalent of permanently using Fire Oil? And if so, is there any point in using Fire Oil as well - i.e., does it double or otherwise increase the fire damage caused by the bow?

Fire oiled shots has a bonus of DoT damage when you make a succesfull Crit hit.
I don't know if it increases the overall damage of a FBAB oiled with fire.

Fire oil only changes the damage type of Swift arrow, Barded arrow, Quick shot, Penetrating shot and Hail of Arrows to fire and gives it a small chance of doing a fire DoT. Doesn't have to be with a crit shot as far as I've seen.

Mercifull shot, Rain of Thorns, Bard's arrow and auto attacks still do the damage type of the bow, regardless of the oil. If the bow is fire, they'll be fire, if it's common, they'll be common, etcetera.

Using oils doesn't increase the damage of the bow in the slightest sadly enough.

So, if I follow you correctly, fire oil only does Damage Over Time, and that not invariably, despite the splashy graphics which accompany a hit with a fire-oiled arrow. Bows with built-in fire damage cause fire damage every time, irrespective of whether they are oiled or not. So there is a small advantage to using fire oil in combination with fire-damage bows...
