am i missing something here?

i have stood in the near proximity of say a lurker spider and cast... does it find the mob? nope.

of course if i take 2/3 steps closer or get close and you get that 'you spot a creature....' message you can track.

Now WHY would i want to track a mob that i can spit at?

Seriously i would have thought the idea would be to detect a hidden monster from a reasonable distance, maybe not out of range over the hill but certainaly close to max range of shooting.
so am i missing something :P

Unseen != invisible.

You can track invisible mobs with Passage of Foes and Passage of Nature skills with the Heightened Senses trait.

Passage of Shadow tracks mobs like the unseen, eg. these guys: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Category:Unseen

"The Unseen" are mobs like shades and cargul. Not to be confused with the "Ancient Evil" group

Spiders are in the "Spiders & Insects" category so you Passage of Nature to track them. If you want to track stealthed (invisible) mobs slot the Heightened Senses trait.

i don't know if it helps to the topic or confuses it further :D , but in neww MM area the northern part i tracked beasts and saw stealthed wargs on the list ( without heightened sense trait) what was their name warg tusker? Whatever as soon as i tracked them , secs after i saw the red dot on radar i lost the track chat log saying the target has eluded you or something like that?
Maybe the wargs i tracked were spoted by someonelse then soon after i tracked them they either restealth or gone out of range?

If you track without heightened senses you still get the complete list of all beasties nearby. However as you noticed when you actually target a stealthed beastie to get the red dot (Tempest Stalker in the Northern High Pass), it dissapears as soon as the target moves, eluding your tracking because you don't have the trait slotted.
