Hi,
I wanted to ask a question about book 11 and how badly the hunter class has been nerfed.
Despite trying to have by question posted by our "group chief"... finally a question has been posted (not mine)
[20:35] <Amrac> <MueR> Question: Will the hunter be nerfed again in book 12, to match all other books?
[20:35] <DangerDan> I am sorry to disappoint you, but no, not this time. ;)
[20:36] <DangerDan> Hopefully, it won't make you sad to hear that we may... even... improve a few of their skills.
My question was to know the feeling of Turbine regarding all feedback or post they could read in the US or Euro hunter forum...
Well I guess that the rest of the Dev chat will be posted tomorrow (or so)...
Can't stay in front of a chat that talk about fishing, dogs, cat and pvmp.

DangerDan??? Finally come out of hiding to say something. Not sure that its good news that we will have to wait for another 2 months for 'improved skills' tho. A pretty small bone and I doubt it will make much difference to current feelings.

I think everyone including the devs knew hunters were adjusted ina downwards direction with both patches. Althought, right now, I am fairly happy with the hunter balance, yes we're weaker than we were, yes big nasty elites require us to use all our skills in order to achieve victory, but that does make the game quite difficult, and therefore challenging.
Solo slaughter of non-elite mobs, there's still nothign can touch us for speed and killrate, above that we've so start to think very hard.
Personally, i haven't been back to the ettenmoors since book10, I really must shift my lazy ass over there and get back to defending Rivendell, but i figure I'll bring my friends, the captain, minstrel and loremaster to help.

Excuse me for being cynical here, but the last times we were promised improvement, we got nerfed to oblivion.
I'll believe it when I see it ...

It'll be posted in few I think... they talked about housing, mvmp, dog, cat, fishing, book 12, new area... and that question finally came and that was the reply I read.
After that, I didn't have the patience to wait to see if my question would be posted or not.. and I was quite bored of some question... Mainly because I thought that some were a bit too "we're living in a wonderful world" compare to the actual hunter status.
Hence, who cares if we'll see dog, cat, or even fishing while the hunter is in such a pain.
I was just in a good mood to stand such questions...

It might be true that solo play has become more challeging, but consider group play then. I'm a hunter which iq equipped quite good. I have all teal set armor, BG bow, crossbow of the hunt, etc... And i'm having trouble outDPSing a tank or even a champ with a mediocre weapon. You might think this has made our job easier and it has. BUT easier also means more boring. It is no challenge pushing all the buttons in a set order, just shooting and shooting without being able to move at all.
It also takes away our feeling of being unique. The only thing that sets us apart from champs now is our ranged DPS. We no longer do more dps, we have less armour, etc....

1.hunter 50lvl + good stuff b9 - agile person whit light step and sharp eye.
2.hunter 50lvl + good stuff b11 - old weak half blind person siting on wheelchair.
i think that is near perfect "vision" what dev made for hunter.

<DangerDan> The main area of the hunters skill line we want to expand on is functionality in raids, now the bk9 and 10 hunter buffs are kickin in properly we are going to allow the hunters "taxi" abilitys to work over a whole raid rather than just a fellowship. That way kin leaders wont need to worry about all there hunters quiting the game or rerolling, it shouldnt be to hard to keep one of them semi active so they can carry out there primary class roll.

1) Uhm B9 and B10 Buffs? i must have missed those.....Giving us more taxi abilities is not exaclty what i would call a buff....Giving us more expensive and mostly useless traps is not what i call a buff....
2) So our primary class role is being a taxi... Must be fun to run around doing absolutely nothing at all untill you are needed for a ride. Don't bother using any other skills during combat since it isn't described as our primary class roll....

Have people considered that the reason for hunters getting the shaft could very well be that in fellowships, a lot of hunters don't have a clue? They hammer away at anything and drag the aggro causing havoc. Reducing the dps reduces the problems for everyone else.
And before I get flamed, notice I do play a hunter.

As i noted before it does make it a lot easier for a hunter, but also a lot more boring. If you don't have to think about the skills you are gonna use, think about switching stances, think about switching bows...what else is there to think about for a hunter. Nothing, the hunter class might be the only class you could actually place a bot on.
Things to do before you use your personal hunter bot:
- enable skills forwarding
Bot program:
1)select the guardian
2)press follow
3)press 5
4)press 6
5)press 7
6)press 8
7)rinse and repeat steps 3 through 6 untill enemy is defeated
8) press enter
9) /cheer
.....I'm being sarcastic, but the fact that some guardians or hunters are not good at their class, should be no reason to nerf it. Challenges make a game fun.

When i first choosed to be a hunter in late beta ( early beta i was a champ player and noticed that turbine wont give love champs for a lonnggg time) on Turbine's main site lotro.com nor anywhere else the class was being decribed as it has the primary role of being a taxi.If this manner is all we'll be getting from Turbine , making the class only a supporter of groups i guess hunter class has worse days upon herself coming. This is sad.All the feedback all the discussion is for nothing ?

That's funny, we all thought you guys were joking around when you came up with the nerf's to begin with :D
But, will anyone take you seriously when you (Turbine) have lied to your Customer Base about PVP not affecting PVE, undocumented Nerfs only discovered by Players testing on the US Only Test Server, the fiasco about Fear always being intended to work a certain way?
Wow, just wow!

The same can be said for doing stealth nerfs or nerfs that a whole class community has veto'd.
However, it is kinda nice to see a Dev from Turbine posting on both the US and EU hunter forums on one day! Shame that it was only to tell us that a dev never said something. However, we already knew that, dev's never say anything!

Hahaha. The beauty of that is that the first clause is actually something fairly plausible, that a developer might actually say, so it sucks you in. Very subtly done. ;)

....i don't think you got the point. I meant outDPSing the aggro of the tank. I'm having a hard time to take aggro from a good tank and while that might seem a good thing, it also indicates that our DPS has been lowered significantly compared to our good old times, when we could get aggro in a matter of shots.
