There is still not a single reply from a dev on the US forums in regards to all the stealth nerfs hunters have received. They seem to be happy to talk about stuff like "the look of polished armor on dwarfs" and "how cool it is to be a minstrel" but not a single response to all the complaints on the US and European Hunter forums.

Maybe they are simply hoping that the ferocity of the complaints will dwindle and then they can start informing the hunter class about new upcoming nerfs.

I have actually cancelled due to the changes and uninstalled the game completely from my PC's but I am still interested in why all this has happened. I am still baffled why so many game breaking nerfs were done simultaneously to one class (it might effect other classes too but I care not because I dont play other classes, so please dont bother informing me about other peoples nerfs.. post on your own forums).

The Monster Play forums in the US seem to be now stating that no one is in the moors anymore. I actually see this as the only good thing to have come from these nerfs. I am glad that non MP players are deciding enough is enough and staying away. That action alone will force the devs into making changes to get Freeps back in the moors.

We need to keep the battle going. I have 67 days until my account is no longer active and I do play to spend those 67 days doing what I can to whine like a monster player about the nerfs.

Do not stop the fight. Keep the posts coming and for goodness sake, stop making out that hunters can adjust and overcome. You dont need to adjust and overcome, you need to get what was taken away replaced.

Well said,

Being a lifetime subscriber, cancelling wouldnt be something id do.

The hunter class was the first class i played, and so far the only one i took to level 50. I picked it because huge fan of books and couldnt imagine being an elf and not being some sort of nature based class, Hunter seemed most appropriate.

I played LOTRO since May this year, and been part of two great hunter Nerfs.

The 1st great nerf i noticed more. Power level became for the first time more important to me then moral levels.

That hurt me alot but thankfully i was already at level 50 and got some of the perks. But my stance for soloing went from 'damage' to 'endurance' and hasent really changed back since. Finishing battles with creatures that once took 1/4 of my total power, took me all the way down to near '0' power.

Soloing hunters became much harder without supplies of potions and lembas.

I spent a long time gathering up the hunter legendary traits, and got them all, and with them could solo elites up to 11,000 moral with no problems,

Bard arrow became my most used skill...Book 11 has made that skill next to useless for how i played the game. One of my most valuable weapons, one that took me alot of time and effort, one that i used in every solo battle and some group ones. No longer used, un equipped and put with the other useless epic trait skill "Way of the Hunter".

"Fear" was a great weapon, and one of the most valuable when soloing. Im just glad i got to max level before they nerfed our ability to solo.

Im not looking forward to when they raise the level cap...

EXPLAIN TO ME DEV's please...why do you need to take away and alter skills in a class that seemed fun to play and was vauable in a fellowship?

LMs pets do more damage then me now, as do some Minstrels...

But i have to admit, with these abundant nerfs hitting the hunter populace the numbers on my server have decreased hugely.

The answer is very simply: there are too much hunters on servers, so Turbine want us to play a Lore Master or a Minstrel.
I don't like Lore Masters very much, but i'm seriously thinking on create one if i want solo without difficulties :(

BINGO!

This was my original thought when I realized what was being done to the hunters, and it seems it's the right one.

When the numbers are balanced perhaps they will introduce some new skills that will make us more appealing again.

At the moment just roll a LM if you like DPS, a captain if you like invincibility, or a Minstrel if you like to do everything :) , just put your hunter to rest...

Still no comments from the Dev's on the "official forums" (that being the ones they visit and not these, which they don't).

Noticed replies now to Minstrels, Champions, Burglars, regarding Housing, about Monster Play and General stuff (including more about polished dwarven armor). Nothing for Hunters....

I am wondering if a miracle may have happened. Maybe Turbine have seen sense and decided to fire DangerDan from his position as chief Hunter nerfer and are now looking for someone who actually plays a Hunter and not a "Monster Play Warg"). Lets face it, DangerDan's skill in balancing is somewhat comparable to Nick Leesons (Baring's Bank) skill in balancing.

I wonder how much DangerDan has so far cost Turbine/Codemasters due to his continous hunter nerfs forcing people to quit. I would have to estimate that its a five figure sum per year at least... lol

In fact, if you remember, in AC2 they offered the ability to reset skills almost every patch day and even offered class exchanges. That so far has not been seen here but maybe.. just maybe thats coming.

Annoy the hell out of the hunters, demoralise them, nerf them, allow them to be ridiculed daily on the forums, and then suddenly out of the blue say "we are offering class exchanges for anyone who feels they are no longer enjoying their class due to changes".

Now, that would infact be a very rapid and quick way to fix the current hunter population as a huge amount would current change.

Its Turbine. They coded the ability to change into AC2, so given that this is a more powerful MMOG, it would be insane to assume that somewhere in the code the same routines do not exist to allow exchanges.

I also agree regarding lifetime subscribers and made a response on the DangerDan feed back post about this. Lifetimers are more likely to want to support the game and put up with everything they are hit with than those on subscription based memberships. Hence the reason that no matter how bad things get, Turbine/Codemasters will always have supporters (but not because they agree with the nerfs and bad decisions, but because they fear losing money on a failing game).

This very much does feel in many ways like AC2. A very fun and initially playable game that ends up with Broken PvP, continuous nerfs, highly unbalanced classes and demoralised subscriber base. I beta tested AC2 from the days where you would walk three steps forward and bounce back two due to server lag and bugs... to the day where you would walk three steps forwards and be nerfed for doing it.

I will watch with interest over the coming year to see how rapidly this game fails. We all know it will, that is not a question. The high end game has no longetivity meaning that people will go elsewhere and combine that with an incompetent development team and continuous nerfs... I would give this game until March 2008 before the development and management team attempt ways to entice people back to save their sinking ship.

Edit: Just so I dont get flamed for my last paragraph. I will quote something from Terry Pratchett to humourously defend my last statement...

Captain Vimes turn to look at Death and asked, "Am I going to die?".
"Oh yes", replied Death, "Ultimately, everyone does".
