I swear, Scouting for Girls use the exact same chord progression in all of their songs. Not even exaggerating.

Matt: I've always thought that aswell about their music choice.
Tbf some of my mates havent got that bad of a music choice, theyre into the usual indie/rock stuff like Oasis or Coldplay, however some others like that Dj Ironik or Dizzie Rascal (tbh, both are W*nk)
Is it me or is Scouting For Girls the most overrated band ever? I personally hate them so much.
You see I'm a bit different I like dance music with indie/rock, instead of urban music with indie/rock. More acceptable and less chavvy imo ;)
Agree with what's being said about Scouting for Girls. I don't mind them but then again aint overaly keen either, songs do seem a bit samey.
Speaking of annoying bands out of the 4 acts on Transmission with T Mobile tonight, two are toe curlingly annoying. The Tings Tings and The Kooks. For the love of god don't watch that tonight :(
Can't even remember who the other 2 acts are but it hardly matters.

Creamfields is alright but that seems to have more of the jumpy, hyped up, knock s**t out of people whilst on drugs feel about it lol, although the headliners are usually very good.
Global Gathering seems to be the more mainstream and house dance music festival, definatly wanna go to that sometime :)

The Tings Tings singing is awful, and the instrumental side is very plain, boring and talentless. Not really good when you wanna be a band :p
They'll get 1 more hit into the top 20 and in a year or so we'll never hear from them again. One hit wonders and songs that are so bad and annoying that people find them catchy can only take you so far.

I don't think The Ting Tings qualify as one hit wonders, considering all 3 songs that they have released (Great DJ, Thats Not My Name, Shut Up & Let Me Go) have all proved quite popular.

Great DJ got to #33, not that high up really.
I know they're popular now but that's not really through them being talented as they're not. 2008 will be a good year for them, but I reckon they'll soon fade away kinda like Scouting for Girls will, as they just release rather boring songs with no variety between them.

Yes very good music, i just listened to the 2 tracks on that link and ilike it a lot. I can imagine some of the songs being used for remixes in a couple years when the band are finally heard over here.
This summer is the first time SneakySoundSystem are first being played properly over here, so it has taken at least a year.
Also Nick when i was in Oz i really got into watching Rove (so funny), last year they went to America fora couple weeks i was wondering if you know if the show is going anywhere this season and if so is it UK, any help on that would be great. :)

The Legend of Yeti Gonzales - Yeti
Finally, they have an album!
They released an album in Japan last year sometime entitled Yume! basically had the majority of the songs this album as on. I do like Yeti but I've heard the majority of the tracks from this new album before. 'Never Lose Your Sense Of Wonder' is an amazing song.
Currently listening to The Subways new album 'All Or Nothing' which is really great even if they've been a bit Americanized.
Listened to The Courteeners album just to check out and I'm not at all impressed and just confirmed my view that they are nothing more than second rate Oasis. If the two bands were burgers Oasis would be a Big Mac and The Courteeners would be a 69p hamburger. You'd all opt for the Big Mac if someone give you the free choice between them, so why have the hamburger when you could have the Big Mac? The guitarists from The Courteeners just don't do anything for me and some of the songs just lack direction. Although the lead singer does have a decent voice which makes for some of the acoustic tracks towards the end enjoyable, overall dissapointing album and not sure why there's so much fuss about them.

Yume! was a compilation album of their EP, One Eye on the Banquet, and previously released singles from various producers and labels, and, like you said, it was only released in Japan.
This is their first studio album and it has 6 or 7 unreleased songs on it so it's worth buying, really.

You like Abraxas? Black Magic Women, Samba pa Ti, Oye Como Va - all classic Santana songs. You prefer the collaboration albums to the other Santana stuff?
Er, don't think I own Abraxas...I have "The Very Best Of..." though, and yeah, I do prefer the collaborations generally...

If you like The Starting Line, you'll like The Almost (L) TSL singer Kenny Vasoli did a duet with Aaron Gillespie on the track 'Yule Be Sorry' quality song.

Yeah, but at the time writing a song like that was just unthinkable.
Making a song that didn't automatically dismiss the idea of heroin (instead, describing what it can do) just wasn't allowed. The Velvet Underground changed the rules, and with a single song pretty much inspired punk with the ideas of saying what you want.
That's why I think it's the best song ever.
I suppose The End did that, too, to an extent, with the lines, ''Father, I want to kill you... Mother, I want to **** you!''

No, the Doors didn't do a cover of Heroin. Jim Morrison would never do a song like that; he wasn't interested in the ''harder drugs'' like cocaine or heroin. Plus I don't know if Jim, or the rest of the Doors, even knew who Lou Reed was, at the time.
He did, however, as you said, allegedly die from a heroin overdose, Pamela, his girlfriend, said he thought it was cocaine and was too drunk to resist the temptation, shall we say. Although, there's hundreds of versions and conspiracies of his death and I doubt we’ll ever know the truth.
Did you get it from Limewire? Because if you type Oasis in you'll get Bittersweet Symphony...
Also, I can't believe you even asked that question...

Much like you will get Muse - Creep. Tons of people I know think Muse have done a cover of that, in reality it's just Radiohead doing it acoustic.

Has anyone heard the Vines' new album, 'Melodia'?
They're streaming it from their myspace. (http://www.myspace.com/thevines)
This is the NME (http://www.nme.com/reviews/the-vines/9836)'s review; which is pretty harsh but I'm not that surprised, to be honest. They slated their compilation, too.
On first listen, it's clearly not their best work. It's no 'Highly Evolved', but I wouldn't agree with the NME when they say, 'it feels like a lifetime of Chinese water torture'.
