Me and my mates were doing this in R.E.
You choose your favourite and what you think was the most influential band of that decade. We started at the 60's. Mine would be:
60's –
Favourite = Velvet Underground (though the Doors and the Stooges were amazing)
Most Influential = The Beatles (no contest really)
70's -
Favourite = The Clash
Most Influential = New York Dolls (allot of my mates said the Sex Pistols but they themselves were influenced allot by the Dolls)
80's –
Favourite = The Smiths
Most Influential = The Smiths
90's -
Favourite = Suede/The La's
Most Influential = The Stone Roses/Nirvana
00's -
Favourite = The Libertines
Most Influential = The Libertines (they brought on this whole 'indie' phase out atm, so it obviously wasn't a good influence, but an influence none the less)
It brought up some pretty decent discussion tbh, well, it did from those who actually could name bands from 80’s etc.

Anyway, I'm listening to 10,000 things, the band with Sam Riley as their lead singer. Absolute quality!

60s = The Beatles
70s = Joy Division
80s = The Jam
90s = Nirvana
00s = The Libertines

Good choice. :thumbs: One of my favourite bands, should be seeing Lou Reed in Nottingham later this year.
I've got all their songs if you ever need any. What are your favourites?

Errm, you basicly just wanna get the albums The Velvet Underground & Nico and Loaded, both amazing!
Some of my favourites would probably be:
Rock & Roll
Sweet Jane
Sunday Morning
Cool It Down
Head Held High
White Light/White Heat
There She Goes Again
I'll Be Your Mirror
I'm Waiting For My Man
Run Run Run
Who Loves The Sun
Caroline (This is Doug Yule though, after Lou Reed left the band)
If you can't find any (on Limewire?) just send us a PM or summet if you want. :)

Agreed, some of the tunes are just..well..great.
I didnt use to like Muse at all until I listened to Knights Of Cydonia (I think), and now I'm just in love with Muse.

Never liked Muse tbh. Not really into all the ‘experimental’ kinda stuff: Muse, Radiohead, Beck etc.
Know some people who love it though.

I didnt used to, I thought Bellemy must have had ''issues'' in life with his music sounds etc :lol:
But tbh, when I listened to 'Knights Of Cydonia' & 'Supermassive Black Hole' especially, I really liked the setup of the songs, and how he'd used his voice etc, mainly falsetto. But anyways I listened to alot of his songs, and then I got the album, hooked ever since.
I listened to Radiohead and they're good, obviously, but not my cup of tea, although 'Everything In It's Right Place' is one of the better ones which I've heard.

You want to get Origin Of Symmetry and Absolution. Cracking albums. OOS will take a while to grow on you. But you'll fall in love with Absolution straight away I guarentee.
