Metallica are just getting old, they are legends though.
Trivium were not rubbish, they aint rubbish now. It could just be big time record labels telling them to swtich to more likeable music, ie Metallicaesque, in order to shift records.
FFAF are planning on leaving their record label and going independent, and it's because their big time label want them to go mainstream.

Air Traffic are immense, Charlotte is also pretty good
Fusion (http://www.myspace.com/fusiontherockband)
If you scroll down, you'll see free download links to 8 of their songs. Four from 'Replacing The Sun' and four from 'Volume 1'. They're an awesome band, I don't tend to fall in love with MySpace bands and if I do, it isn't a lasting affair, but my god, 6 months on and I still looove Fusion and I strongly reccommend their 9:30 masterpiece 'Experimental Second Birth' (http://www.fusiontherockband.com/myspace/05%20Experimental%20Second%20Birth.zip) (I don't know the policy on posting links to songs that the band are making available for free, remove link if necessary)
Anyway, someone, just check them out and that song in particular.

How much Coldplay you got? I've got 8.5 hours.. Have you heard Moses? One of their best. Moving on..
5.6 hours:( You must have many bootlegs.
I have heard Moses, it's on the 'Coldplay Live 2003' DVD. Speaking of which, the final song, Life Is For Living <3
