No need to apologise. I'm starting to go off all the bands they've influenced and in a couple of years I may not like them at all. I'll always hold Up the Bracket in high regard though. A few years ago I would listen to it all the time. I'd say it was the stepping stone between listening to whatever was on radio/ tv and finding my own music.

Currently listening to Ascention by John Coltrane. It's an avant-garde jazz album. A very challenging listen. Interesting though.

Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister

The best twee indie pop album ever made. A delightful album, from start to finish. Musically it's nothing outstanding- the melodies are nothing new or innovative, but the lyrics are the genius of this record.

Other B&S albums to check out:
Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like A Peasant
Tigermilk
The Life Pursuit
Dear Catastrophe Waitress

Also, not an album strictly but the double CD compilation: Push Barman to Open Old Wounds is a brilliant summary of their early EPs and singles. It has their best song on it: Lazy Line Painter Jane.

I <3 Belle and Sebastian.

Out of interest, how would you order the Radiohead albums?

Hmmm, todays order:

OK Computer
Kid A
Amnesiac
The Bends
Hail to the Thief
Pablo Honey

I read a few pages back you're not feeling Kid A much? You need to listen to it more. I hope it will click for you, because it's a perfect album. Surely you cannot ignore the genius of The National Anthem (which when you break down is essentially a catchy bass riff) and the almost orgasmic Idioteque? Then there is of course literally my favourite song ever Everything in its Right Place- words cannot describe its amazing-ness. I could quite perhaps listen to that song all day long...

Thom Yorke's favourite Radiohead song is apparently How to Disappear Completely...

My friends just seen Lostprophets yesterday, can't remember where they said it was, sounds like they had a blast
i was there at the NIA in Birmingham, it was fantastic!!
they also played a new song from their album they have been working on, its much heavier then any of thier other stuff, there was a lot of screaming, and i loved it! it was fast, heavy, awesome instrumentals! fans of the heavier side of LP will most likely like it, fans of just Liberation Transmission, may not like it.

Also on another forum alot of the people have been dissapointed with the new Linkin Park album.Have they? I'll have to see if that's leaked yet in a while.

Listening to Person Pitch now (thanks Thom), although I don't have the greatest feeling about it so far, probably need to listen a few times.

Got the Arctics new one..

Loving Fluorescent Adolescent, one of their best ever...

Teddy Pickers good..

Theres a mix of sounds used, at one point it sounded Oasis like then it sounded very Snow Patrol like in one of the later songs, one of the slower ones I think.

Overall mutts nutts for saying they are way overhyped.

Florescent Adolescent will be a favourite because of its poppyness, Very catchy and very singalongable (yes, im making up words today). 'Do me a Favour', have it as my ringtone at the moment, such an awesome tune. The Lyrics are truly amazing. 'The last **** Off Might be to kind'.

I have to say, I'm loving the sound of Manic's new album (Send Away The Tigers) Its the best stuff I've from hem in years, Opening tracks awesome, Best track on the album has to be 'The Second Great Depression' this tune will please any old school manic fans, think Holy Bible meets Generation Terrorists. This is the album that should have followed 'This is my truth..' Life blood wasn't much, some good tunes but nothing gripping about it. Nicky Wire's genius and James Bradfields gorgeous voice, a great record.

You might have the wrong end of the stick there... He said he doesn't want to go to the ceremony because Mike Joyce will be there. Not because Mike Joyce is in the list already... I presume the Smiths will still be inducted.

You have to learn to take what Morrissey says as a pinch of salt. He's stuck in his ways and he says some obsurd things, but that's why so many people love him (me included). He is not an arsehole :(.

Mate its awesome! stick with it.

Just listening to that Gym Class Heroes - Cupids Chokehold, I actually like this, 2 reason's, one, its basically a cover or sample of Supertramps 'Breakfast In America' an awesome tune. But secondly its nice to hear a 'rap' tune where the artist doesn't insist on swearing and saying the N word every 10seconds.

I didnt really feel his Late Registration album was a scratch on CD, didnt like Touch the Sky or Diamonds but CD has the majority of tracks as decent songs unlike LR which is full of skits and album fillers IMO.

Yeah skits are a waste of time and space on the album but successful rap artists have always had them, Eminem is proof he had loads with his and D12's albums.

His new one is available next week isnt it? Second Semester? Or are you talking about a proper new one, not a new album cover and name with the same songs on.

27-November-2006 07:25:32, the day charts well and truly died.

''Irish boy band Westlife have beaten U2, Oasis and The Beatles to the number one spot in one of the biggest chart battles in recent times.

Heared on the radio just now something very weird.

Apparently because of the new chart rules, where all downloads count Artic Monkeys are looking at having 18 tracks in the top 40 because everybody is downloading tracks from the albums like crazy at the moment.

Now tell me the new chart system isn't a joke!

The chart system isn't a joke...

It's much better this way. I don't see why only singles should make it into the charts..

I haven't listened to a single bit of music today :( I left my iPod at home, so spent the whole of school music free.

Yeah it's good that any song can make the top40 I agree.

But i've said it before and i'll say it again it needs some guidelines and to be thought out properly, because if this happens then it really does make a mockery of the whole thing.

Urgh but they're more mature now. Maybe it's because I listened to the old album so much.. but I really think this one is more of a brilliant album. The last one was a bit like a greatest hits album, in a weird way. It's better not having tons of 'stand out amazing' songs.
