I think you should get into radio !

Im serious . Your music taste is very open and theres a wide range if things.

On the other hand one week on Last.fm you had Girls aloud on
I don't quite get this post.

What do you mean get into radio?

You contradicted yourself by slagging off Girls Aloud and saying I'm into a wide range of things. I can appreciate good music when I hear it, regardles of what genre it falls under. Girls Aloud are far more interesting than lots of boring british indie bands e.g. The Kooks, Razorlight and The View...

Absolute ch00n!!! Love it to bits. Perhaps my favourite album Libs track.

Probably prefer The Delaney though (it's on the I Get Along EP), live version:

In a manner of speaking yes -they give you high end quality audio.

Talking about headphones anything by Sennheiser (sp) is top notch.

I will second that.

I have just bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 201 Stereo headphones for my computer, and it has made my music sound all the better. Plus, at £15 it was a steal

I advice decent headphones, esp for your PC (in fact, i dont have speakers except the built in ones - laptop you see) and im glad now, because i dont need them.

Haven't been around for a while...

New purchases:

Maximo Park - good album but a bit samey so far from my listens - need to find a song or two that stands up. Going to see them in a few weeks though, so that'll hopefully give me a bit of spur.

Grant-Lee Phillips - US singer-songwriter who's been around since the early 90s (remember buying his first album back in 1993!) - nice guitar-based indie rock stuff (with a bluesy type of backing), a few tracks remind me of T-Rex.

Modest Mouse - finally got around to getting this - a lot are brilliant songs, some are a bit meh, but all in all could reach my top 20 of the year...

Fields - just got this today but I've been well impressed with the singles/EPs so far so hopefully the album will live up to their output so far.

:)

So, exactly a quarter of the way through the year now, and my top albums so far are probably between Arcade Fire, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Panda Bear, LCD Soundsystem, The Shins, Klaxons, Eluvium, Andrew Bird and maybe, at a push Of Montreal. Still nine months left though!

For yesterday afternoon and a bit of today I've been listening to Just Jack - Overtones.

Tell ya what, it's not that bad actually, a bit of a grower.

Not quite as 'hard' as The Streets
Not quite as 'raw' as Jamie-T

I'd say it was kinda a mix of those 2, but with a little bit of Morcheba kinda funk popped in. Kinda funky-house, and (get this description) Down-tempo coffee-table breakbeats

It's pretty chilled, but I don't think that the lyrics are anywhere near as good as The Streets

Still, it's worth a listen nevertheless

What do you mean by ''sold out'', and I probably prefer The Black Parade, not going to say I do though, as I like them both a lot.
completely changed themselves in order to be popular, the two albums sound completely different, and i guess the old-school fans do have a case.
iv just uploaded Def Leppard - Hysteria, gonna give that a listen :)

He means they've become mainstream. They've become 'sold out' because they're making more money with more popular music than the original style.

Edit: Darn my slow brain.

I like both albums anyway, The Black Parde is really good, some quality songs on there, i.e The Black Parade, Dead, The End, The Sharpest Lives, I don't Love You, Cancer, Mama .. ok I'm naming them all now, I'll stop.

there are some great songs on The Black Parade, some of them have been over-played though.
the old-school fans are just pi$$ed because mcr are becoming popular and everyone is nicking their trends.

Well their a bit stupid then tbh, they base their ''trend'' on a band, pfft. That's what I mean about MCR, they're so arselicked, people just listen to one of their songs and class themselves as an emo.

Lol not really like that down here, but they do just class themselves as emos, and not know anything about the style of music. They're all like ''yeah you don't understand'' and stuff, but tbh I probably listen to more ''emo'' music than most ''emos'' in my school. Although out of school, they're more genuine.

I really don't like Pablo Honey at all. It's the only Radiohead album that I don't long to listen to anymore. I prefer the more experimental Radiohead of 1997 and 2000. I suppose though Pablo Honey launched Radiohead and for that, makes it an important record.

Listening to- Calvin Harris- Acceptable in the 80s. The catchiest song ever!

what music you into? if you like rock music, i reccomend Taking Back Sunday - Louder Now, amazing album. If your an indie fan, The Fratellis - Costello Music

I like rock and indie, I bought the Muse album and Kaiser Chief's new single (Ruby) in the end.

Ace records on the Muse album (Black Holes And Revelations), my favourite track is either Supermassive Black Hole or Map of The Problematique, they're what you call chooooooooons, as is Knights Of Cydonia.

And anyone with the two Fallout Boy albums, what's the verdict on them? They have five albums :) I have them all bar one...

My "reviews"

B-Side To Your Tongue - Don't own this one :o

Take This To Your Grave - Quite a good sound, although I have the remastered edition, Grand Theft Autumn is probably my favourite song off of that, although "The Pros And Cons Of Breathing" is Tunage!

Evening Out With Your Girlfriend - Only 9 tracks on this, so got ripped off (£12.99) but still very good album. My personal favourite song is "Pretty In Punk" but again, "Short, Fast, And Loud" is veryy good :)

From Under The Cork Tree - My favourite album of the four I have, "Sophomore Slump Or Comeback Of The Year", "I Slept With Someone In Fall Out Boy And All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me" and "Of All The Gin Joints In The World" are all some of the best songs i've heard in a while, and obviously "Sugar, We're Going Down" and "Dance, Dance" are quite popular.

Infinity On High - Seem to me as if they're turning more Pop, not as Rock as they were, but "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs" and "You're Crashing But You're No Wave" definately need to be downloaded bought.

Havn't had much of a chance to listen to the others but I listened to Kid A through once earlier, didn't really like it at all, I'll keep listening to it though. Patrick Wolf is sexy and makes even sexier music.

Saw him live twice in three months earlier this year and he was good, both times.

As much as I've enjoyed The Magic Position I don't feel the urge to put it on like I had with Lycanthropy and Wind in the Wires. Maybe because other music at the time wasn't as great as there is now, but I'd still say I prefer the first two records more than the new one....

Listening to Person Pitch (if you don't know who it's by yet, you're silly...) and still loving every second of it. It's a flawless album.

does anybody remember the editors? they are class :D what are they doing now? touring or writing?
Editors are quality, I listen to The Back Room alot.

Bullets is quite possibly up there in my top 20 songs of all time.

Not to sure if they're writing new material or not, would like to see another album though.

Radiohead - The Bends; love this album actually, I really like all of their albums apart from Kid A, do I need to listen to it more?

Patrick Wolf - The Magic Position; really good album actually, I don't have his previous ones but I'll try and get hold of them soon. The single, ''the magic position'' is really good aswell, good album.

(Andy, don't even bother saying you made me listen to Patrick Wolf, lol) ..

Exo-Politics is the best song from Muse apart from Knights Of Cydonia

Dunno whats happened to 'em. They were touring at one point I think. Munich was a very good song IMO.
