Not really, I heard more Oasis songs then all of those others combined. :o
So what? I might have heard more Girls Aloud than The Beatles, does that mean they're better? And I enjoy The Smiths more than Oasis definately, although Oasis are very good.

I liked the last 3 Oasis albums, Standing of The shoulder of Giants being the weaker of the 3, but still, some decent tunes. Heathen Chemistry was a great album, as for Don't Believe The Truth, well its the start of a new beginning, the band line up has never been better. With all band members contributing, they will go from strength to strength. No band releases great album after great album.
As for Oasis receiving The Outstanding Contribution award, well yeah, that's *******s, 10 years ? a joke really, but how else are you going to get Oasis to turn up to the Brit Awards and perform?
Prats? to some yeah, to me, Proud. Very Proud, they don't give a **** what people think, that's up to them, IMO great attitude. I'll listen to anything, and I do, but I'd rather listen to Oasis over anyone, except for maybe The Beatles.
Oasis's music may not be thought provoking , But Its Just Rock 'N' Roll, its 'Yeah, Yeah, Yeah' and its Love.

That seems to be a lot of peoples view, probably will be mine too. Anyway something which keeps frustrating me is that whenever 'Ruby' starts I'm always like 'I like this song', but I don't :(!

That's quite freaky, I know that feeling. I get that with some Fall Out Boy songs...
Don't know why.
I think the reason I was so dissapointed was because Silent Alarm was so good. 90% of the album was complete, and utter, choonage.

I do like Virgin as well :) Radio 1 plays too much urban crap more regulary than the others so tend to stay clear of that.
As for the London ones it's either Heart or Captial for me, both play some sort of thing but Capital is a bit more modern.
And thanks to Juve Rule providing there are no further f**k ups with extraction etc I now have Kaiser Chiefs album :D

Do you really like the last three Oasis albums?
I'm not gonna say every song on them have been good, because they havent. But yeah the albums have been decent, not awesome but decent. Their best stuff was nearer to when they first started imo. Wonderwall, Don't Look Back... etc. And as for saying that there are many other bands in M'chester than Oasis. Yeah thats your opinion and you are entitled to it. Im not saying you aren't. I just think differently.

My favourite song to be released this year, an awesome track from a very promising band. This tune sounds like its come straight from the 90's.

It's very good indeed.
I personally prefer OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Theif though... other than a debut album which has been described as 'ear rape'- lolllZ, Radiohead are a band that should set the benchmark for modern music. Bands should look to progress with every album like Radiohead have so mesmerizingly. Man, I need to see this band live again.

You need a bit of Hail to the Thief and Amnesiac in your life. You won't believe how different they are. Unless you know Radiohead proper, in which case you should expect anything.
Their seventh album is going to blow everything else released this year out of the water.

I have heard and own Amnesiac, a great album. One I should maybe listen to more, I will make that a must do for tomorrow actually. ''Their seventh album is going to blow everything else released this year out of the water.'' I hope so, I really do.
A release I'm really looking forward to - Manic Street Preachers, Life Blood was interesting, A good listen and some great tracks. I really liked James Dean Bradfields Solo effort, He's a talented bloke. I would love for them to go back to their roots, release something very Punk rocky, Like The Holy Bible.
Edit - Got my wires crossed, Generation Terrorists not The Holy Bible.
Tracks such as Slash N' Burn, Love's Sweet Exile, You Love Us, Little Baby Nothing, and Of Course the Genius, Gorgeous, Fan****ingtastic Motorcycle Emptiness.

Got Neon Bible as well - had to really. Loved so many of the tracks from the album from hearing before launch that come release I couldn't do anything else.
It'll probably be my among my best of the year. Although I noticed today that my last four best of the year artists (Arcade Fire, Clap Your Hands, Go! You are taking the P155 right?
James Blunt - talented? And then you say Green Day are bad? Haha yeah right.
James Blunt has the most samey, boring, lack of diversity, pathetic music where every track sounds the same and I having even got onto the lyrics yet! They're empty and meaningless. I mean, how many people have wrote a song about "your beautiul". He's a bag of balls. Over-played and over-rated.
Green Day have been producing good music for over 15 years, and at least they write their own music. Mike Dirnt is one of the best bassists in the world of rock. They have written so many different types of songs that even if you don't like their heavy stuff, you'll like some of their acoustic stuff. They've written great sad, heavy, instrumentals, funny and depressing tracks.
E.g. Jesus of Suburbia (American Idiot) - epic 9 minute rock song.
Misery (Warning) - abstract sounding track with amazing use of instruments
Minority (Warning) - one of the best punk songs ever
Basket Case (Dookie) - great catchy pop track
Hitchin' A Ride (Nimrod) - Heavy, but tuneful song
Good Riddance Time of your life (Nimrod) - Classic acoustic track
King For A Day (Nimrod) - a bit of brass intruments
Holiday (American Idiot) - punky and political. Class tune.
Panic Song (Insomniac) - The greatest instrumental build up to a climax i've ever heard
Dominated Love Slave (Kerplunk) - Hahahahaha Tre Cool singing

That is possibly the silliest post ever!
Green Day are not a punk band. Punk was around in the late 1970s and featured bands like The Clash and the Sex Pistols... So therefore Green Day cannot have wrote one of the best punk songs ever.
Incidently Green Day's American idiot album is the only album I have gotten rid of from my collection- it was just quite awful....
Then the post gets beyond silly by saying Muse are better than Radiohead...oh dear.
Radiohead have released five great albums. Muse have released one very good album. I can respect Muse for changing their style from time to time, but not quite in Radiohead's league.
The above post is completely my opinion, please don't get all moany at me anyone. Thanks.

Can i ask what Muse album???
I have to say that RH and Muse are completely differant. The only album that Muse sound similar to of Radiohead's is The Bends. But even so its only a couple of tracks.
They are two of my favourite bands and i honestly believe they are differant. Muse are heavier then Radiohead(they've done nu-metal!!), but Radiohead are more electronically orientated

They are two of my favourite bands and i honestly believe they are differant. Muse are heavier then Radiohead(they've done nu-metal!!), but Radiohead are more electronically orientated
Origin Of Symmetry, of course.
It was the first one I heard as well. Then I heard Absolution and thought it was ok, but not the best follow up. Stockholm Syndrome is my favourite Muse song though. Then I heard Showbiz, which was nice- nothing outstanding there though. Finally, Black Holes and Revelations. I remember being highly excited about this leak and talking to my friend about it on MSN while it was downloading. His downloaded first and he was talking me through the tracks. He reached the final bit of the album and said he really didn't like it and couldn't listen to it all. This I found most bizzare, but didn't put me off it. I gave the album a listen and went through the same thing he did. I only liked Supermassive Black Hole. He told me days later that the album had grown on him and I should try it some more, and so I did...My initial impression was incorrect, but I still really don't see much good about it. I actually hate Starlight.

i have to agree with you on that one. BHAR is there worst album and Starlight in my eyes is quite average. Map of the Problematique is a great song though.
While im at it i'll post up the list of Radiohead albums in order of how much i like them.
Ok Computer
The Bends
Hail To The Thief
Amnesiac
Kid A
Pablo Honey
Alright ill do Muse as well
Showbiz
Origin of symmetry
Absolution
Black Holes and Revelations
I do still believe they sound nothig a like though...

Had a great listen to The Stone Roses today, fantastic, to keep it going, I then gave Mr Ian Brown a blast, Very clever bloke and a great lyricist. My favourite Brown tune has to be 'Corpses in Their Mouths'. For any Squire fans out there I strongly recommend 'The Seahorses' a band he formed after The Roses split, they only ever done one album, some belting tunes on it.

They're kinda like a cooler, New York version of Kasabian sometimes with a load of other influences (like LCD Soundsystem for example) - easiest way to describe (better than saying a load of obscure bands that no one knows!).
From the new album - which is really good - try Must be the Moon, A New Name or Bend Over Beethoven (especially Must be the Moon).
Theres only the Cockpit here and they dont really have great acts .

Leeds isn't too bad - Cockpit does have a few good bands play, but I think Leeds suffers as it's too close to Manchester and Sheffield. Leeds has the best homegrown scene of the three at the moment though - great place to see "bands before they were famous".

Don't know who I was talking to regarding the Good Shoes album. I thought that I had it, but what I actually had was a collection of demo's lumped together.
Well, I've now been sent the link to the advanced album, Think Before You Speak, it's SOOOO much better than the demo's that have been circulated before now, including quite a number of ones that we're not leaked
Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge if anyone would like to PM me ;) I may be able to point you to a place that you might be able to download this album before you go out and buy it.

Listening to the first Arcade Fire album to get me in the mood for seeing them tonight.
Well looking forward to it, even though I'm going all by myself...it's the first time I've been to a gig on my own. Will be class though.
You privately hired them so you could see them all by yourself, how selfish of you. ;)

The new Muse album was crap, but I respect them for going in a new direction.
Other than that, though, Muse are great.

Well its not crap, but its there worst album by quite a way.
Why do people like that Fray song? It sucks IMO.
Liking a bit of the lovely Charlotte Hatherley's new album. Some are just a bit crap but most tracks are good :)

Agreed, however even though it's a different direction from Muse I still like it...
Its got diversity in every song, I mean, compare Take A Bow, Knights Of Cydonia and Hoodoo for example...
All completely different songs, and to be honest there isn't a Muse song I dislike which is suprising for me as I tend to dislike many things... ;)

British Sea Power!!! I was once obsessed. Haven't listened to them much recently, but stuck their debut on today and was blown away...
The reason you're not keen on it is because your computer speaker aren't loud enough. You need to download the whole album (The Decline of British Sea Power) and play it really loudly :). Great live band.

Get yourself a pair of decent headphones, much better than speakers for music. These if you are loaded:

Albums for this week:
Andrew Bird - great new album from the offbeat US signer-songwriter - nice tunes.
The Rakes - good, but not great - still too "Strokes-lite" for my taste
Panda Bear - excellent tunes, but as I've said on here before, it needs a bit more oomph every so often.
The Aliens - great album from the ex-members of the Beta Band, will be in my charts for the best of the year based on the first few listens through.
Modest Mouse to follow once I've listened to it...
Oh, and also got a rare late-1960s funk/soul album on Ebay, by a soul singer called Spanky Wilson, called 'Doin' It' - one of my favourite albums of all time and a brilliant LP.
Never been available on CD, it usually goes for well over £100 (for example: http://www.cdzone.co.uk/rp=193164,info=1359529) - I got a signed version for £15 (I was very lucky - took me two months to receive it, but worth the wait).
I doubt there's many funk/soul fans on here, but it's an album worth it simply for her cover of Cream's 'Sunshine of your Love'. Absolute classic.

Well "everyone" is wrong then because OK Computer is a far superior album. Kid A and Amnesiac are also far superior albums and currently I am favouring Hail to the Thief to it as well. Ranking The Bends as their fifth best record. Don't get me wrong The Bends is lovely, it's just I prefer experimental Radiohead with elements of electronica and jazz to rock Radiohead.
Not that it bothers me but OK Computer was ranked as the best album ever by both Q magazine and Channel 4 viewers....The NME prefer The Bends though.
Just started Amnesiac on the Radiohead marathon.

I prefer the Bends - It's one of my all-time favourite albums, and rises above Ok Computer for me just for the pure musicianship and melody.
Ok Computer is still fantastic, but I've never been as much of a Radiohead fan post The Bends - the experimental edge to their newer stuff just leaves me a bit cold.
But each to their own, and I don't mind admitting that there is still some amazing stuff to be had on Kid A, Hail to the Thief and Amnesiac.
It just never quite matches The Bends.
Also High and Dry is as close to musical perfection as any band can be I'd say.
