2003 Bathurst - Murphys pole time

How was Murph's pole wining time of 2 min 06 something, amazing lap, pretty to watch.

Come Saturday i decide to stick a tape in to record the top ten shootout, cause im kinda busy and want to watch it when i can relax. So i set the video for long play giving me 6hrs out of a 3hr tape.

During the day i get a chance to watch a little bit of the early action like the Konica and carrera race's which arent terribly exciting. Im so looking forward to seeing the V8's for the first time on the mountain.

So anyway comes time to sit back and relax, i grab a beer lay on the couch and fast forward the tape to the beginning of the shootout. As i watched the fist two blokes i start getting real excited, out comes Richards in the HRT, he's setting the pace and pushing it hard. I sit up glued to the set as he comes down conrod, my hearts pumping as i think to myself it just doesnt get any better than this.
So he fly's through Caltex chase approaching murrays corner, im expecting a great time... tape stops and starts to rewind.

major bummer mate, I would be spewing as well.

If I had taped it i would send it to ya. Murph's lap was something special, he was just caning it, you have got to get a tape of it somewhere.

I dont think ive ever seen anyone do a better job of breaking the qualifying record than that. He definately deserved the win.

well rpm are meant to be having a special on at the start of november talking about bathurst, phillip island and indy so you should see some highlights of qualifying cause itll probably some 2 and a half hour episode or something.
