I am attending Bathurst this year for the first time and for the full four days and i was wondering if anyone who has been in the past could give me some ideas where they think the best spectating spots are. Being there 4 days will give me plenty of time to burn and spots to try out. Cheers :D

****e, the entire 4 days. Good luck man.

I only ever go on the Saturday, especially after whats avaliable at home this year.

I live 2 hours drive from Bathurst (the other side of the mountains). I always wanted to go on Sunday and I almost did this year except we're with Telstra Bigpond Broadband, and this year they jumped on board so their offering heaps of cool stuff to us for free - live in car cameras, live timing, the pit radio from pit to car, basically ****e loads of stuff we'll probably not get a chance to use.

But I do go on Saturday for the shootout and meet the drivers.

Ok man, dont know about the Friday, on Saturday be sure to visit the pits when they open (if you get the pit pass or whatever the hell it is). The drivers all sit outside their pits in pit lane and autograph your stuff. Be warned - HRT is the first pit ... after about 15 mins they start to 'fluch' you out of pit lane. They begin at the first pit (HRT) and a line of security people tell you Pit lane is closed and start to flush you towards the end of pit lane - you'll see when your there what I mean.

As for seating man I reckon the grandstand in front of the TV, or anywhere you can see the TV, otherwise all you'll see is a car come past once every 2 minutes or so, and your unable to keep an eye on the action so it gets boring quickly. Also somewhere you can hear the announcer to keep ontop of whats happening.

Good luck and wear sunscreen - you will get sunburnt

Thanks for the tips Y2K. However I didn't see your post until i came back - flew over from Perth. So coincidently I got sunburnt and all. Sat at the end of the Chase in front of superscreen, pretty good viewing. Great race, a bit different from spectating at Barbagallo though, being another 4kms long and that. Skaife was robbed though  Oh well, Good on ya Murphs!!!
