Shot in the Dark First Pages /ragequit

Anyone had any luck getting any of these from the Wights in Northern Trollshaws? I've spent about 8 hours killing wights (at night when there are more), have the merciful trait from them, but no pages.

I'm in despair of getting four of the things.

yes me and and others have all got our pages from there,you do have the book and have been to Legolas to activate the the quest for the pages?dont know about the night thing i wasnt there long enough myself to see night ,but its best to kill every mob in the ruins around there including rats and picking up ground spawns as these are placeholders of wights

I don't have the book for shot in the Dark, no. Does this not also drop from the wights? Where abouts does it drop?

the 4 pages dropped from the wights in the trollshore drop as a quest item once you have the book and have activated the quest at Legolas,as a quest item no one in your group can see or roll on them ,if you dont have the book and quest/deed from legolas you will not see any pages,the books drop from mobs that are +39 in trollshore ,misty mountains and angmar ,mainly from humanoids,orcs and trolls .wouldnt worry to much ,if you spent that much time there you must be loaded! great for cash them wights

LMFAO O_o mate Books as well as 8 of pages are 100% random drops of humanoids over lvl 39.

the pages for shot in the dark are not from random humanoids over lvl 39, the first 4 pages drop from the wights in nan tornaeth (even the lvl 38 ones) and the last 4 drop from the dwarves in gabilazan, but no they do not drop unless you already have the deed in your journal

You can acquire the book and start getting the pages at level 39, and with a little help can probably hunt the pages at the same level. Your first legendary trait slot doesn't open until level 41 though so that is the earliest you would be able to equip the trait.

OK that explains why I got no page. So I need to use a book then go farm pages?

Yeah no problems here.

I spent roughly 5 hours in total there and got my 4 pages easily enough. Its better to go late at night when no ones camping/questing. Make a run from one end of the ruins to another and then rinse and repeat, the mobs aint hard at higher levels and after a few hours of grind you'll find that youve made about 500 silver as well hehe.

Precisely.

You need to find/trade/buy the Book, talk to Legolas and then start farming Wights in the North Trollshaws and Gabilazan Dourhands in the Misty Mountains.

The same is true for the Way of the Hunter Book, but not for the Furthest Charge Book. For the latter you can find/trade/buy the pages even if you don't have the book.

And a little side note.....

When hunting lvl39+ mobs for the pages/books you most often get pages/books for other classes like the mistrel, Lore-Master, champion and so on.

When you get these books/pages then go to the AH and sell them. Then use the money to buy the books/pages you need.

I sold a Mistrel book and a Guardian book for the total of 7gp or so, and I bught two Hunterbooks (buyout) for around 5,5 gp ....:)

So it really doesent matter what books/pages you get :)

Also if you are in a kinship, make sure all the other members (who hunt in lvl39+ mob areas) know you are looking for it. Then trade them before selling them in AH.

I have 5 pages for "The further charge" and only 2 pages I'v got in drops, the last 3 pages I got/traded with my kinship mates :)

First Four - Wights in Nan Tornaeth
Last Four - Dwarves in Gabilazan
Wights spawn at night mostly, few roams over day rest of them turns into maggots (crawlers)

3 books for each class, 2 books have quest pages, 1 book has teal coloured world drop pages.
